£70,000 down the drain nice.

Technically, it's only £48,000 down the drain, since he got £22,000. It wasn't the worst deal that we've seen lately. I thought the £22,000 was a bit low for the board, so I'd probably have carried on. I was expecting "old faithful" £26k to be brought out there. Liam seemed like a nice guy, though, so I hope he enjoys the money.

Why do I get the feeling £22,000 is going to become the bankers new old faithful.

Also it needs to be remembered that had we still been in live active play, the offer may well have been less than £70,000 especially if they wanted to encourage him to no deal. Does anyone remember how £7,500 nearly caught on as the lesser "old faithful" amount? We haven't seen that offer for a while now.

Nope, but I do remember £16,500 being used as one! Then Artak turned it down on blue/£50k having already turned down a hugely generous eight-box offer - and duly swapped for the blue. Did we see £16,500 after that? I don't think we did.

£7,500 was his main offer just after Easter, and it got a number of people out.

i do remember 16.5k popping up a couple of times, one in particular, young girl, took 16.5 with a brilliant board still in play...it would buy stuff for an african village apparently...
can't believe i would say this, but miss the old 26,000 walking offer. much more appropriate for the final rounds of the game (and more appropriate at the 8 box stage than the paltry 14k that was offered  ) £22k was quite a disappointment then to be offered a wildly inflated 70k....someone's taking the p*ss somewhere

Wasn't that just after Easter in 2007?

No, Mark, Greg and Kirsty dealt it, and I believe Simmo and a couple of others were offered it.

Oh yeah true, I forgot about those. It was also used just after Easter 2007 when there were quite a few offers of £7,500 and several people dealing it, including Sarah, Lionel and Rita.

I think it was slightly inflated. In active play, I'd imagine it would have been between £40k and £60k.

i keep going back to laura's 250k win and the final offer of £44k, she was left with the 250 and 3k.....in this game we had a blue and 250k.....and we get 70k????! I agree that 40k would have been more like it, considering the overall lower offers being dealt out recently.....the game's all over the place at the minute

Germaine was offered £75,000 on £1 vs £250k in active play back in March 2006, and then there was Jennifer who got £120,000 on £750 vs £250k back in November 2005, also in active play. Obviously things have changed since then, but I still think £50k - £70k is about the average offer on such a board.

Still, it's the first remotely big win in I don't know how long. Hang on - it's the biggest since Richard's!!

Yep, which means that the "rank" of biggest wins since the start of May is Betty with £100k, Richard with £22,500 and then Liam with £22,000... and it's nearly the end of June. That can't be right surely?

Graham won £30,030 the day before Betty too. So, since the start of May, it's...

Betty (7th May) - £100,000
Graham (6th May) - £30,030
Richard (22nd May) - £22,500
Liam (24th June) - £22,000
