I'd No Deal here. It's a 40/30/30 split situation, which is normally Deal time if the 30% is a drop (and it is here), but not when the 40% chance of a rise is the 40% chance of this much of a rise.

Swap £250k out for £100k and I'd be looking for £15,000... as it is, I'd want nearer double that.

Predictably enough, though, he's a targetist. Still, it's the first remotely big win in I don't know how long. Hang on - it's the biggest since Richard's!!

15 is my box in the DS Box Game, so I'm almost wanting the 250k to be in 15, but for Liam, I hope it's in box 1.

Noel wonders if this game will crash now, and thinks it should after that round

2 - Del - £100

"NO NO that would've been the perfect start" says Noel

14 - Barry - £50,000

"NO" says Noel

Extra heartbeats again...

1 - Yvi - £1,000

"NO" says Noel, "Oh my God" says Liam...

Banker time with £500 and £250,000 remaining

So long as he's happy with £22,000 he shouldn't have any regrets.

The £50,000 didn't need quite such an emphatic 'NO' though. Maybe something like 'Ooh it's the safety net... but we need the biggie to go now!'.

£70k seems slightly generous, though not out of the ordinary; I'd have Dealt it without hesitation.

Liam says he'd have said no swap here...

Noel opens Liam's box 15 and reveals £500

Not for the first time, targetism backfires but not to the extent recklessness would.

Well apart from swappy Wakeyists but I digress.

I hope you enjoy the money, Liam - and the very fact you Dealt on that board surely implies it's more than enough for you to make a lot of use out of.

£22,000 and not a tear in sight!

You can see turning down £14,000 was hard for him so when the £22,000 was offered he just had to deal it. If he had lost the £250k then he would have had to go to the end to get the £50k.

Great result for a great guy!

Well done Liam on £22,000 and i will use my favourite phrase here Enjoy the money!!

I completely understand the deal, given I would have dealt there myself, shame he avoided the 250k in the last round, but I don't think the deal was as bad as some have made it out to be.

This may finally be the turning point that we've been waiting since the beginning of the year :)

Game of the month?

A very strong, tense game, followed by one of those rare tense proveouts... Great stuff Liam, I thought the deal at £22,000 was weak, but it must have meant a lot to you.

Really pleased for him, I'd have dealt as well. Would have taken serious guts to turn down 22k and no-one can blame him for not doing so.

And at the end of the day, he beat the banker.

I'm not sure what to make of today's show really... Liam was a likeable bloke on the wings and he was in his game today as well. But I think the bad luck recently has got to the others and I couldn't help feeling that they all felt very disheartened today, even after Noel was trying to hype them all up.

The fact that Liam was nervous didn't help things either, although obviously he couldn't help that, but I think we could've done with a more energetic player today to bring everyone back up after this run of bad luck.

The 8-box offer was rather low, but the 5-box one was justifiable either way as he had only two above, but even if he'd knocked out £250k he could've still had a healthy offer on a final 2 with the £50k in it. Failing that, he'd have one at least a high blue. But the amount for the board was right for Liam, but it's a shame that once again!! the wrong sort of game was matched with the wrong sort of player, and once again we were so close yet so far from another Power 5 win.

I thought Noel's thing at the end of "Play on honestly, I know you will because you're that sort of guy even though you don't have a system" was a bit stupid - if he hasn't got a system then he can't play on honestly or dishonestly. :? Anyway it was an ok show today, with some rather amusing stuff from Slim. Enjoy the money Liam.
