Actually I never felt much tension there either, but that was odd becuase usually three boxes left with one power 5 still there in active play is usually really tense. It just had an ai of inevitability about it, and she just didn't "feel" like a big winner. Still £1,000 is a good consolation, I'm not sure I'd have swapped. I'd have left 22 like she did too.

And I think the banker would have offered £17 at the end regardless of what she said. He is so nasty when 1p's in play at 2-box! Remember Caroline's £4 offer on 1p v £500?

Still, good on her for going for it, we could have done with her playing Jimbo's game.....

Loads of games at the moment seem to be revolving around the median values for some reason....

I have to agree, there wasn't a lot of tension either. The loss of the £75k did seem inevitable. Odd really.

Not a bad game, glad to see her missing the 1p club though. Nice lady.

A nice game, but nothing spectacular. Heldy was alright but the game itself just never got going. I thought for a moment that she was going to get to 2-box with the £75,000 and at least get a decent offer to deal at. But at least she avoided the 1p club.

However if it was me playing I would actually prefer to win the 1p over the £1,000. I know that sounds silly but to me £1,000 is hardly going to do a lot for me and at least if it was the 1p I could join the other 16 members. Then I might get an invite to the Banker's birthday next year.

Incidentally if I had been playing today I would been left with with 1p vs £250,000 as I would always keep box 14 and 8 (which was on the table). But I wouldn't swap and depending on what the offer would be at that stage then I could of turned down a lot of money to win 1p.

A game where I don't think there was an offer that was really worth taking and the banker offering nearly 60-1 odds on a coin flip would have got me taking a gamble today.

Not a spectacular game today, both in terms of tension and (lack of) strength of the board. Heldy was a nice enough character, but the boxes just didn't work out for her, and there were no offers really worth taking (although I thought £4,200 was not too bad and was only expecting about £3k with 3 of the banker's power five left - £17 on the other hand was awful!).

At least the swap worked out and she didn't end up as another member of the 1p club. First swap since Matty in March gave away a huge red to receive the penny - if she'd chosen the other box, we might have had a near reverse result! She follows Mike from December 06 as the second player to banish 1p from the table, whereas 6 players have swapped for it! (although some dealt later)

I quite liked Heldy, shame it wasn't more, but at least it's better than the penny (which most of us would have won)!

Well, having been thoroughly disappointed by Jimbo on Saturday (who I really believed was going to go for the opportunity with both hands) I had very low expectations for today's game but Heldy surprised me. The mention of the children and the constant shots of that picture towards the end suggested that she was going to nab the disgusting £4,200 offer and run but she held her nerve and, at 3 box, I was really urging her to find the penny but it just wasn't to be.

Still, £1,000 isn't to be sniffed at and Heldy took the crash well and didn't get all hysterical about it... which is more than can be said for Tommii  (He's an odd one, I think he's a great character and a funny guy but the tears today were just ridiculous).

Enjoy £1,000 Heldy- and that £1,000 was far more deserved than Jimbo's £10,000 on Saturday, it must be said. Unfortunately though, we seem to be in another slump- Betty fever came and went without a second breath and it's back to the usual format it seems.

The usual format where big money is blown and low sums are won :(
