At last a great, down to earth player (who is male and brave at no dealing) gets a handsome power five win. Hopefully this bodes well for game 999 and the big 1000. Well done Stephen, enjoy £35k.

There will be people who know already what the result of show 1000 is and obviously keeping quiet about it...but does anybody else, who doesnt know, feel that we could be in for an almighty let down for show 1000? All the hype and build up, it is just another show after all :smt105

Just a random pointless observation, but I quite liked this camera angle they used at this point giving a wide view of the studio from above the game board. I don't ever recall seeing this angle before though. :ponder: I wasn't even aware that there was a camera above the game board like that.

Not pointless at all Mike, I had missed that in among such a wonderful show for many reasons.

Thanks for the post with the bench press and that wonderful kiss

A perfect comeback to the sheer bad luck of Sunday's game.

Stephen was great, a real character and produced some very entertaining moments (benchpress/1p kiss). He also turned down some very generous offers but went away with £35,000 so at the end of the day, pretty good.

The best special so far.

Mike, is that not the angle they use for the closing credits?

No, because the above shot is from above the board, and the end credits are at normal level.

Ok then, yesterday's teaser today. Or something. This is really going to test your knowledge and memory. This one is concerned with banker offers, more specifically some of the comedy offers that have been given. All you need to do is tell me who received the following offers, first names will do, and I will accept any name provided they received that offer. This list does include some proveout offers, there are some subtle clues in the offers that may help you:

1.) £99 and a bunch of carrots
2.) Soap, Bucket of water and £11,000
3.) £2,008
4.) Cheese Nibbles, Prawn Dips, Cocktail Sausages, Pineapple Chunks & Cheese and £150
5.) £33,000.62
6.) £30,000 + 6 week wing-walking course
7.) £750.39
8.) A Turkey Sandwich and £7,000
9.) £18,004.50
10.) A Pretzel - a Duck + 3 Doughnuts

Good luck! No peeking! Answers tonight.

3. It's got to be whoever played first in 2008 but I don't know who that is. I know Frank got £2,007 on the first day of 2007, and multiples thereof from then on.
5. Ed - and it should've been £33,000.60!
6. Alice in proveout, obviously. (Would she have risked that on the 1p/£250k finish? Would she have risked a flat £30k or £35k?)
9. Carlton if memory serves, and he'd have got an OPW from taking it!
10. Sarah, obviously.

2. Jonny from Dec 07?
3. Glen.
8. Lyn? I think she was the first to play after Christmas stars last year. I don't think Hayley got it!

Can't remember who received it but I think it may have been during the banker's birthday week (hence the food being needed for a party). Not 100% sure though.

I wonder who received the offer of H2005 :suspect: :-D :P

1 was Dee in proveout as Bunney was there for her game.
4 was Phyl from about this time last year
7 was Robin
8 was Jenny (boxing day 06)

I think all the rest have been answered correctly already! :)
