Seeing as I seem to be alone in thinking Irene's final offer was inflated, I'm putting it to the vote! Vote Yes if you think it was beleivable, or No if you don't. Polls close next Thursday! :smt023

I will also note that Sophie from earlier this year had the exact same final two, and was only hypo-offered 107k. Plus, Sobia, whose game was repeated on More4 this morning, only got 70k on a 15k-250k finish.

Yes, I think it was about right. Average was £142,500 so it was a bit below that. And the fall back was £35,000. Most people will be much more happy to take the gamble knowing that they can still fall back on a big number.

Absolutely. If she'd managed to get all the way to 2-box, the banker would be utterly terrified of her becoming the 4th quarter millionaire. Remember Kerry-Anne was offered more than the average at her 2-box, and despite the fact she was incredibly gutsy up to that point, Irene still kept going on about her dreams and how she was gambling them to keep going.

About right I'd say for the moderate player, I'd have been narrowly prepared to turn it down.

Yes. Wouldn't have taken it though. No chance.

With a fallback of £35,000, a five-figure offer would've been an insult.
If you're talking about inflated, some woman was offered £120,000 for a £500 vs. £250,000 finish.

Hog, us ain't stupid... we'll work the options out... :smt023

The FD is about £118k at that point so, yes, I think it's believable.
I'd have probably gone at £130-£140k.

If you mean Jennifer's £120k deal it was a £250k/£750 finish (this was in the infancy of the show so I don't think they knew what quite to do when the first player had the £250k in live-play at 2-box)

£120k was believeable today (I figured for £130k when trying to work out the EV of the 2-box offer)

Well, thanks to all who voted. :smt023

A whopping 81% thought 120k was reasonable enough, compared to just 12% who thought not.

We'll just have to wait until someone has the same finish in live play to find out for sure!

I'd say £120,000 was about right for that final two.

Earn £130,000 or lose £85,000...yep that's believable.

How many copies of '50 Great Coastal Walks of the British Isles Volume 2' do you think you could get with £120,000? ;) Quite alot I would imagine!
