Wouldn't it be good if Endemol made like a special DoND one off show where all of the 22 contestants were celebrities and all of the money they won went to charity. Personally I would have Vernon Kay in W8! :D

It wouldn't work as the whole point of DOND is that they get "normal" people off the street. Noel also said he'd leave if they ever did a celebrity version, so I doubt they'll ever do one unless they want to find a way to get rid of Noel.

I did think once that perhaps a celebrity version would be fun and interesting, but now i'm actually glad they don't. My reasons being is that so many shows now have "celebrities" (supposedly they are celebrities, though quite how appearing on a reality show etc makes you such a celebrity I don't know) and it just gets tiresome seeing the same z-listers hopping from one show to another just to get another bit of airtime and more chances to plug their latest show/product while in a bit to win some cash for charity and look good.

Millionaire is a big culprit of the celebrity versions (or it used to be anyway) and it seemed that whenever I watched the show it was always some celebrity couple (because one z-lister just isn't enough).

I would much rather DOND kept it "real" by using regular people that choose to apply to be on the show and go through an audition process.

Just imagine the DOND wings with your "favourite" 22 Big Brother housemates of all time. Not a nice thought.

No, it'd just be tacky. I think it'd make you appreciate having regular people on the show, however!

Don't think it would be a good idea myself. So if you got 22 celebrities in and only one played the game, what would be the point of the other 21 even turning up? Pointless.

They should never do it. Simply because it would ruin it. People (not me though) say the show is bad enough as it is at the moment.

I've always thought it would be terrible and wouldn't work, due to losing the continuity aspect of the players in the wings waiting to play, and also the fact that playing for charity would make them very unlikely to gamble.

But now the show's gone a bit stale, and they have done the Christmas Star shows which bypassed the waiting to play bit of it, and hardly anyone takes much of a gamble now anyway. So I'm starting to think I'd like to see it now just out of curiosity! As long as they got interesting people rather than a line-up of Big Brother rejects from a few years ago...

It depends what you count as a celebrity. Are reality TV stars celebrities? I would imagine that a great many contestants from last year's Big Brother/I'm A Celebrity/X Factor would be queuing round the block to be on TV for 45 minutes.

I think you could get some fantastic comedy if this was tried once, however it is normally the sign of a show going to the dogs when a celebrity version is done.
