England will one day get the timing right - they used to declare too early and always get caught up...but now they're declaring way too ahead...

In fairness I think it was the right call to bat on then declare. Perhaps 460-470 would have been better though rather than the 500 lead to give more time. Also England could have scored faster, and was it really necessary to bring on the night watchman Jimmy Anderson at the end of the 4th day?
