With the Premiership a little under a week away, it's time to attempt to predict the scores of key games from the weekend.

Early each week, I'll post ten games... All you have to do is predict the scoreline. The more accurate your prediction the more points you will score.

Scoring System

If you get the result right, you earn 1 point.
e.g. You predict Arsenal 0 Chelsea 1. Actual score: Arsenal 1 Chelsea 3

If you get the home score right, you earn 1 point.
e.g. You predict Arsenal 2 Chelsea 1. Actual score: Arsenal 2 Chelsea 2

If you get the away score, you earn 1 point.
e.g. You predict Arsenal 0 Chelsea 1. Actual score: Arsenal 2 Chelsea 1

If you get the goal difference right, you earn 2 points.
e.g. You predict Arsenal 0 Chelsea 1. Actual score: Arsenal 2 Chelsea 3

These scores are accumulative so if you predicted a 2-0 home win and the match finished 2-1, you'd get 2 points in total.
If you predicted a 4-3 win and the match finished 1-0, you'd get 3 points in total.
A spot-on prediction earns you 5 points.

You don't have to play every week, but the more weeks you play, the more likely you are to finish high up the league.

Right, enough explaining, here are this week's 10 golden matches. All kicking off on Saturday 11th August at 3pm.

Week 1

Bolton v Newcastle
Derby v Portsmouth
Everton v Wigan
Middlesbrough v Blackburn
West Ham v Man City
Sheff U v Colchester
Southampton v Crystal Palace
Wolves v Watford
Tranmere v Leeds
Hibernian v Gretna

EDIT: APOLOGIES, I'M A NUMPTY. Falkirk v Celtic didn't kick-off at 3pm, so I've changed the game to Hibernian v Gretna! Sorry.

Happy predicting![/b]

Bolton 2 - 2 Newcastle (Big Sam's big test - and it will be a draw)
Derby 1 - 1 Portsmouth (A boring game)
Everton 3 - 3 Wigan (We might see a few good Wigan games; this one of them)
Middlesbrough 1 - 1 Blackburn
West Ham 3 - 2 Man City (Close call but Dean Ashton is amazing now he's back!)
Sheff Utd 5 - 0 Colchester (Colchester will go down now they've lost their star strikers)
Southampton 0 - 1 Crystal Palace
Wolves 2 - 0 Watford (Watford have lost Bouazza now!)
Tranmere 1 - 3 Leeds (we shouldn't underestimate Leeds too much!)
Falkirk 1 - 3 Celtic

And for the record:

Nottingham Forest 2-0 Bournemouth :-D

How about an extra dimension - predicting the first goalscorer? 1pt for that? Obviously if you predict 0-0 and there is no goalscorer, you get the point too.

Birmingham 1-3 West Ham (I predict Dyer scores on his debut for the Hammers!)
Fulham 0-1 Middlesbrough (Yakubu or even Mido to score!)
Reading 2-2 Everton (Reading have an amazing home record, I think it'll be a draw)
Tottenham 2-0 Derby (Spurs to finally win; with Bent celebrating his return to the England team with a brace)
Wigan 2-2 Sunderland (A draw between what I think will be two evenly contested sides)
Stoke 0-2 Charlton (Marcus Bent to score)
Watford 2-2 Sheffield United (Equal firepower)
Brighton 1-0 Northampton (The Seagulls to celebrate their approvement of a new stadium)
Shrewsbury 1-2 Bradford (Bradford don't belong in League Two; a good away win for them but Shrewsbury will do well to score!)
Rangers 2-0 Falkirk (Rangers to build on their impressve start to the season)

And we're forgetting one...

Swansea 0-2 Nottingham Forest - Forest to finally start scoring!!! YOU REDS!
