This is a twist on the format that actually exists and is playable for anyone who goes out to find it...

There are 2 boards! Each board has 16 boxes with the following amounts:

1p
10p
£1
£10
£100
£250
£500
£750

£1,000
£3,000
£5,000
£10,000
£20,000
£35,000
£75,000
£250,000

One of these figures will be chosen at random and placed in box 16 on both boards. This is your box and may not be swapped at any point. The remaining values are randomly distributed between boxes 1-15 on each board. So box 16 is the same on both boards, but the rest are different. It is therefore possible (except in the highly unlikely event of matching final two) to work out what is in your box at some point. eg board 1 10p/£1000, board 2 10p/£5000 means you have 10p in your box as it's the only value remaining on each board.

The offer pattern is 3-3-3-2-1-1-1. Your choices are applied to both boards giving you two separate boards at the end of the round. The banker will make an offer for each board based on that boards strength. The banker will make offers as if he has no knowledge of the other board. eg on the above 10p/£1000 and 10p/£5000 boards you might receive offers of £400 and £2000 respectively. Saying deal results in you taking the higher of the two offers that round.

The game will automatically end if your box is certain to contain the highest amount left on both boards.

Simple eh? This mode gives a good advantage to the player so on we go. Your first 3 please :)

Easy one this - DEAL.

Only way I regret this is if I have £75,000 in the box. I know £250k is there to be hit on board 2 and if I do, I'm basically shafted. And if I hit £75k whle keeping £250k then I don't gain much if anything, and also have to Deal there.

13, 14, 15.

And a second offer deal! Was it one too soon? Box could still contain £35k/£75k, and even though we know the £250k isn't in the box it could drive offers up. We need this round to ruin the game...

Board One - Round Three
13: £20,000
14: £75,000
15: 10p

Leaving a board of:

1p
£100
£250
£750

£1,000
£5,000
£35,000

Banker's offer would've been:

£3,600

Board Two - Round Three
13: £1
14: £100
15: £500

Leaving a board of:

1p
£10

£1,000
£3,000
£35,000
£75,000
£250,000

Banker's offer would've been:

£40,000

eek! The next round is only 2 boxes. Choose.

Was only ever going to be one too soon at most and the crash was very much on.

4, 5.

We need to hit it...

Board One - Round Four
4: £5,000
5: £35,000 - good!

Leaving a board of:

1p
£100
£250
£750

£1,000

Banker's offer would've been:

£400

Board Two - Round Four
4: £35,000
5: £10

Leaving a board of:

1p
£1,000
£3,000
£75,000
£250,000

Banker's offer would've been:

£50,000

No! The two highest values are still there on the second board. We need to hit one of them in the next round.

On the bright side, we at least know you've sold your box at a profit :)

One box per round now. Where you going?

Board One - Round Seven
8: £1,000

Leaving:

1p
£100

Banker's offer would've been:

£50

The one that matters though...

Board Two - Round Seven
8: £3,000 . !!!!

Leaving:

1p
£250,000

Banker's offer would've been:

£75,000

Your box contains..... oh the suspense!!!.... 1p

So I'm not sure how we class that? You sold your box at a massive profit, although there was almost four times as much to win from the game. Not that I ever think we'd have got this far even if you no dealt the second offer.

I think there was probably at least one more round for you though. When you dealt you had either 1p/£100/£3k/£35k/£75k. The average of these is slightly above what you dealt, and you also had 2 boards to play with £250k left on one pulling the average up. That said, you can't complain too much at £20,000 :D

What did you think of the format?
