It's MUCH better with the proveout round, and the stats table at the end. Excellent stuff!

Only problem is, I'm addicted now! ;)

v1.2.1 (Bugfix release)

* Improved the randomness of the generator, wasn't seeded correctly
* Fixed overview table not showing "Accepted" if accepting offer in round 6
* Updated cheat "updatehighscore" to include box times for highscore setting
* Updated cheat "setboxtimes" to save setting (used to reset each run)
N: Removed some redundant code

Just a question, will you be adding music to the game soon to improve the atmosphere?

Very good :-D

Is it possible to maybe add a 'fade in' effect when the numbers are revealed, to build up a bit of tension? And as the boxes are picked, the fade in gets more prominent as it's more important :-D

Yeah sorry, the offers still need a fair bit of tweaking. There are measures in place to prevent it going above max/below min on table, but it's still not very smart.

Also, each offer can very +-20% from 'recommended' offer, to try make it a bit less predictable. This can result in little variation in earlier rounds though. Other than adding a timer to see how confident the player is, I don't see how else to implement this?

Nearly got proveout phase added, just working on getting a few more stats at the end.

An idea would be to have maybe +-60% on the opening round, then +-40% on the second round. If that's possible to do. I feel bad for pointing out ways to improve it, as it's by far the best version we've had... :?

same offer with 1p and 10p here.

Rezzie, the only thing that needs improving is the offers. i havent had an offer higher than £2,000 in the first round, and that should be a bit higher at least, but i love it!

1.3
+ Bankers offers have had a major rehaul, should be a lot more realistic now and are customisable through options
+ Added the option to use a vibrating, ringing phone (default) instead of the "Generating offer..."
+ The contents of each box are delayed before being shown, and the font is coloured instead of the background
+ Loading screen fades in :)
* Bankers offers have better handling for min/max values (no more 2p offers with 1p and £50 on the board)
* Rewritten XML import/export, should be more reliable + upgradable
* Highscores will now be imported from corrupt files/past versions
N: Cheats updated to reflect changes in options - see readme for details

If the phone gets on your nerves it can be turned off in the XML file :) If the game is currently running use the "reload" cheat to apply.

Sorry about the low first offers - the formula I'm using seems a little inaccurate during the first 2 rounds. You can change the modifier for offers in this version, but be careful - its still pretty experimental.

If anyone finds any good numbers that give realistic offers let me know and I'll make them default in future versions.

Wow! Been away for a week, so I've been a bit out of date with all things DonD, but coming back to this game is fantastic! Love it! Thanks Rezzie!

You can also click the phone to go straight to the bankers offer

1.4
+ Can now dump a log of games from the end game screen. Click "Save"
* Better bounds checking with offers. No more silly offers on low numbers!
* Changed "Avaliable" to "On Table" to make more sense, plus changed it's colour to make it more visible
* Added missing label for "Status" (showing when you accepted) on end game screen

The log dump is in the same format as is used on the "Post your games here" threads :)

Yeah I had that problem too, it was an amazing game though....

Code:
Rezzie's DoND .NET v1.4 - 18/04/2006 01:21:12

You had box 20.

Round 1
Box 14:   £250,000
Box 8:   £75,000
Box 2:   £35,000
Box 16:   £20,000
Box 5:   £100,000
Offer:   £930 (NO DEAL)

Player Winnings:   1p
You had 1p in your box.

You get some idea of how good it was I reckon.
PS. Feel a bit rotten complaining because it is a super game!

Sorry - found the problem and fixed it for future versions. Next release has an options form, some issues with proveout fixed (offering proveout even if last round and not going to swap - pointless offer) and the save dump fixed.

Edit: Btw Will, could you be any more unlucky? :)

Think the £50,000 went in round 2 so I had to keep going!

I'm dreading the day someone has a game like that for real. It could well happen though.

Rezzie, here's a tip:

the banker never offers a swap during proveouts, only (sometimes) at the end if a contestant no deals to the last 2.

The banker does offer a swap, both during proveouts and normal play. You could just have been unlucky with the roll of the dice - it has done it for me a few times.

i meant on the show, if a player has already dealt, the banker will not offer a swap at the end

1.5
+ Added Options form to easily change settings without having to reload
+ If phone is set to play sound it will ring max [OfferTimeout] times, if no sound it will vibrate for max [OfferTimeout] seconds
+ Progressbar will now take [OfferTimeout] seconds to complete (if shown instead of phone)
* Fixed some issues with game export that resulted in "-1" being displayed for box numbers, or only first round shown
* Swap will no longer be offered during proveouts (thanks safc4eva)
* Proveout will no longer be offered if last round and not going to be offered a swap
* Proveout winnings would be 0p if you were offered the chance to swap but declined
* Bankers offer would sometimes be blue even for high offers, not anymore :)
N: "reload" cheat removed, made redundant by options form.
