Plus, if its free, you can just keep trying and trying over and over again until you do win the £1,000,000.

i'm going to act as the devils advocate here.
endemol will have invested vast amounts of money into the Deal or No Deal brand and the format of the game.
They are purely protecting their investment.
I agree that the amateur sites are not doing any harm, but any other company would only do the same.
Endemol are fully within their rights and within the law to take any legal action to protect their brands.
I know I'll prob get slated for saying this but I can fully understand them doing this....if people continue to rip DOND off, then the brand will become diluted, there will be copycat versions of on the market and ultimately this will detract from the Deal of No Deal brand, and will eventually cause consumer confusion.
I'm with Endemol on this one.

So you're not really playing devil's advocate at all.....you're just disagreeing with other people. I agree with you, btw.

While i agree with the fact Endemol are only trying to protect their game, it makes me shiver to think they are shadowing over our forums looking at everything we say. I think they need to loosen they're C&D's, as games like Rezzies' one arent bringing negative effects on their show, but positive effects; more people will understand the show better, they will be more enthusiastic toward the show, and most importantly, viewing figures might rise. Endemol is throwing these opportunities away, and most importantly, they are throwing the hard work put toward these games back in the creators face. Its not nice, but they dont care, as long as their company keeps on going. Ultimately, they are spitting in the creators collective face. Not very nice.

Jon.

True, and everything they are doing is completly within their rights. They own the Deal or No Deal format, and as such can decide whether or not to allow anything relating to it - such as my game and the photo gallery.

It just doesn't seem to make much sense. I could understand why they would want to stop the eBay auctions for Deal or No Deal software, but if a project is not making any money, not even accepting donations, and they credit Endemol/provide links to their site then I do not see a problem with it.

In the end though it is their decision, and it looks like they chose the C&D route. Maybe we should e-mail a newspaper see if they run a sympathy story to get some public backing :P

That's probably because it's not publicly accessible, which was the problem with the old photo gallery here.

By the way the main site is accessible, and anyone can view the stats/game details etc. But the forums and gallery are password protected for contestants only.

Thats the thing though; Endemol dont know what content is there, there might be nothing! So they cant come in guns ablazing slapping a C&D on something that might not even contain anything!

Nothing, because Endemol might not see this topic. And the chances of them not seeing this are slim.
