So who do you want to win? Democrat Barack Obama or Republican John McCain?

24 hours until it's all decided.

If they vote Republican again they have no-one to blame but themselves. As for Obama, how much do we know about his running mate/second in command?
:suspect:

Obama is clearly the better candidate in my view. For starters John McCain is too old to be a President in my view... and if he gets ill or anything (in fact he's already ill, he has a tumour or something which is why he has a strange puffy left cheek) then that Sarah Palin would take over.

I should have probably said I'm going with Obama but really anyone would be better than Bush... although if it was McCain, Have I Got News for you and Mock the Week would be alot funnier!

From what I hear, some Americans are voting McCain simply because they don't want Obama in as he's black.

There have been quite a few worrying trends in racism reccently with the reaction by some to Hamilton winning the F1 and Obama... It is like we are heading backwards in alot of aspects at the moment :?

Odds at the moment look like this...

Democrat - 1/16
Republican - 7/1

So thats pretty decisive.

Oh and 66/1 with Ladbrokes for Obama to win every state...

I think it's strange that the Americans have already been able to vote for about 2 weeks or more. I suppose it ensures a higher turnout of voters but it makes the last few days of campaigning a bit pointless if many people have already voted. It's much better in the UK where the politicians are ripping holes out of each other right up until polling day.

I'd like to see Obama punch someone who throws an egg at him... that'll spice things up nicely!

It'd spice things up even more if he punched someone who was racist.

The New York poster was a good one - showing the two men with the opposite colour skin!

Latest odds on Betfair tells you all you need to know;

Obama. 1/20
McCain. 19/1
Biden 500/1
Any Other 1000/1

I assume Biden is 500/1 as that's the chance of Obama being assasinated between winning the election and taking office.

Don't forget parts of America still have a racist community, so it probably works both ways. They might see it as being acceptable to decide on them via their race, where as a lot of us over here don't.

ok Im fed up with Facebook status on the matter... we are English for crying out loud.

Anywhoooo... one of my mates wrote on another mates wall on FB saying that Obama had to win cos he was Black... thats not a reason to vote someone to win... stupid people.

I think Obama probably is the right man for the job but who knows, we all thought Blair was a breath of fresh air many moons ago.

Obama was the first to break through the 1 million votes mark... apparently 160 million have voted.

If he gets Florida, this is in the bag!

Yep! Say hello to America's first black President! This is going to be a HUGE landslide victory!

Correct, as I type a McCain vistory is now 60/1. US networks are calling Obama as the winner within minutes of the polling stations closing.

Those who couldn't care less puzzle me. For example, the policies of George Bush have led to the credit crunch and the Iraq war, among other things. Whoever becomes the next US President will affect the life of everybody who reads this forum over the next few years, whether they realise it or not.
