Well, the time has come, it seems, and I'm sad to inform that Sylvia passed away at around 03:00 this morning according to husband of 65 years Alf (who's 87), who has been visiting her at the hospital and staying from 10 to 8 every single day for the past wo months to be there for his wife. Needless to say it was expected (it was expected seven weeks ago), but a mild "hit" nonetheless to all who knew her but especially to Alf, who will now be returning home as a widower (correct term?) to face the prospect of living the rest of his days without the person he loved most. Must be very, very hard for him right now. But yes, (and this is before anyone asks if he gave anyone permission to spread the news, I know some would) he has asked for the news to be known to all who knew her, I am the very last person you want to come across if you spread things like that without explicit permission of the people involved. I believe very much that the dead should be respected, and especially with all the support on here alone, I thought it only right to inform people here who might have been curious.
So Alf's just been planning a dance in her memory at her wake, as she was a member of the local biddies' dance group and it was what she liked most. A fitting tribute, and they're expecting a turnout of about 80 people.

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!
A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.
