Hi guys! So I fancied changing up the rules for the new year, so here goes!

Now you start with the regular UK board:

This is how it remains throughout the game. Box 23 at the beginning of the game is set up with the following options:

    DOUBLE
    +£15,000

    MONEY BACK
    HALF
    NOTHING

Then, we have the following two features:

THE TWIST
After being randomly assigned a box, you will choose one of 6 random options that will be a twist that will apply to your game:
  • HAPPY 2017: At the end of the game, you get to open one of our gift boxes which contain: ££££; EXOTIC HOLIDAY; HOME CINEMA SYSTEM, ROOM REFIT or GADGET PACKAGE.
  • A TALE OF TWO BOXES: Pick a second box to bring to the table. You receive your final offer at 3-box. If you are still in live play after that offer, you will win the higher of the two boxes. A SWAP offer allows you to swap one of your two boxes for one remaining in the wings.
  • KNOWING BANKER: The Banker looks in your box and two other boxes of his choosing.
  • BLUE BUSTER: You can employ the 'Blue Buster' once in your game to remove two random blues from the game.*
  • UNLIMITED MINUTES: The Banker will no longer make offers at the usual places, and instead, you can request an offer whenever you like, as often as you like (but at least twice).
  • RE-REPLAY: Did you not like the round you just had? This twist will allow you to REPLAY the round you just had and reshuffle all of the boxes for you to play the round again. However, the Banker also gets the chance to force you to REPLAY a round.

* To use Blue Buster, there must be at least 7 boxes remaining, at least 3 of which have to be blues.

THE PREDICTION
You need to make TWO offer predictions in your game. Your first prediction needs to be made at your first offer, and acts to change one of the cards in your Box 23 roster, depending on how good your prediction is:
On the nose: QUADRUPLE replaces NOTHING
≤ 5% away from the offer: TRIPLE replaces HALF
≤ 10%: DOUBLE replaces MONEY BACK
≤ 15%: ADD HALF replaces MONEY BACK
    ≤ 20%: No Change
    > 20%: QUARTER is added.

It is then up to you as to when you would like to make your second prediction. There are three types of prediction you can make, and you must state which type of prediction you're making when you lock in your prediction. The three types of prediction are as follows:

THE CASH-IN-HAND PREDICTION: Making this prediction gives you the opportunity to bank some cash instantly. How much depends on how good your prediction is:
    On the nose: £10,000
    ≤ 5%: £5,000
    ≤ 10%: £3,000
    ≤ 15%: £1,000
    ≤ 25%: £250
    > 25%: NOTHING

THE OFFER BUTTON PREDICTION: Making this prediction gives you the chance to activate the offer button in your game. If your prediction is particularly good, the Banker's button offer will have to be a minimum percentage of the average:
On the nose: LIVE Button, Offer = 100% of the average
≤ 5%: LIVE Button, Offer ≥ 75% of the average
≤ 10%: LIVE Button, Offer ≥ 50% of the average
    ≤ 15%: LIVE Button only.
    > 15%: NO Offer Button.
Any Offer Button prediction within 10% is also guaranteed to produce an offer above the Fair Deal. In A Tale of Two Boxes, the average percentages are that of the 'Two Boxes' average, which is weighted on the probability of winning each the remaining amounts on the board.

THE 23 BOOST PREDICTION: Making this prediction will add an additional cash bonus card to Box 23 (if you're within 20%). The better the prediction, the better the card:
    On the nose: +£75,000
    ≤ 5%: +£35,000
    ≤ 10%: +£20,000
    ≤ 15%: +£10,000
    ≤ 20%: +£5,000
    > 20%: 75% is added.

Remember, in Aaron's DoND the SWAP is ALWAYS offered at the end of the game.

After eight games of this now, I've made a few changes:

  • The Cash-in-Hand prediction has been weakened, whereas the Box 23 prediction has been powered up (and the Offer Button prediction, slightly).
  • The prizes available in Happy 2017 have turned out to be quite pricey (including a holiday package worth over £12k!) so the cash amount up for grabs is a random amount from £2,017 to £5,000.

Read above for more details! :smt023

From Game 51 onwards, there have been a couple of changes:

  • There is now a sixth twist: RE-REPLAY.
  • You now need to make TWO predictions in your game, including a mandatory one at your first offer.

Read the first post for how these work! :smt023
