Good evening, and welcome once again to Le Banquier, where one case leads to another, and the right case can lead you to a massive payday.

On our last show, Ben went all the way and took home more than $325,000 in cash and prizes. Our next contestant hopes to match or better that feat.

You know him as one of the co-hosts of the game show sensation known as Race to a Billion, but tonight, the tables have turned, and he will step in the role of a common contestant. Please give a warm welcome to Mr. Aaron Brock!

*applause*

Aaron, welcome to the first of Le Banquier's Holiday Specials. We've lots of surprises in store for you, so let's get this show on the road.

On our stage, we have 26 cases with various amounts of money inside. Take a few moments to study them, and then pick the one that you think has our top prize inside.

Well, I certainly hope so.

Now, I'm sure you noticed that in my intro, I failed to mention what our top prize is. Normally, we play this game for up to half a million dollars. But since this is a special episode, you will be instead be playing for...

[Dr. Evil]One Million Dollars![/Dr. Evil]

That's right! We're doubling every amount on our game board, which means that you could become the first millionaire in Le Banquier history! Take a look at the board:

$0.02
$2
$10
$20
$40
$100
$150
$200
$400
$600
$800
$1,000
$1,500

----------
$2,000
$10,000
Vidéotron Mobile
$50,000
$100,000
$200,000
$250,000
$300,000
$350,000
$400,000
$600,000
$800,000
$1 Million

Don't forget about the bonus things; they're waiting for you in three of our cases. Speaking of, for our holiday shows, the Vidéotron Mobile bonus has been doubled to $20,000.

Does case 16 contain the millski? Let's find out!

Good luck :smt023!

Got 'em, thanks! Here we go...

Round 1
[9] - $0.02 - Well, you can't ask for a better start than that :D!
[11] - $20 - That's good too!
[21] - $2 - As is that! You've also found the Sunwing bonus, and that means you've won a trip to Australia ($10,000)!
[8] - $600,000 - That, less so.
[7] - $100 - But that's more like it!
[23] - $2,000 - That too is good.

Despite the loss of the $600,000, that was a great opening round. Let's get your first offer.

BANKER'S OFFER

$55,000

Est-ce que cette offre est accepté or refusée?

Only one big hit to begin so I'm feeling pretty confident! Thanks for a generous first offer but REFUSÉE!

Next up, Cases 4, 5, 22, 13 and 2 please!

Yeah, nothing to worry about so far, so let's press on.

Round 2
[4] - $300,000 - Another big amount out, but it's early days.
[5] - Vidéotron Mobile - Two rounds, two bonuses won. You've got 20 grand in the hand regardless of the outcome of this game.
[22] - $600 - Nice to get that out of the way.
[13] - $800 - And that too.
[2] - $40 - Can you say blues cruise?

We're two rounds in, and already things are looking great. Naturally, that makes our offer-making adversary a bit nervous.

BANKER'S OFFER

$84,000

Accepté or refusée?

That it is1 Keep the big money alive, and you could find your way into the annals of history.

Round 3
[1] - $250,000 - That's okay, as the Americans used to chant on the U.S. version.
[24] - $200 - That's more like it!
[3] - $10,000 - Still good!
[17] - $1 Million - But that sure ain't. Commiserations :(.

Everything was going along beautifully until that last case. But worry not, my friend. There are still lots of large amounts in play, including $800,000. Here comes the offer from a man whose nervousness from the previous rounds has subsided.

BANKER'S OFFER

$63,000

Accepté or refusée?

It shouldn't have subsided too much, there's still plenty there to play for! Five amounts higher than that offer so I shall REFUSÉE!

Cases 6, 10 and 12 please!

That's the right attitude. The last player who said that was daniel123, and he played his way to a jackpot win.

Round 4
[6] - $50,000
[10] - $1,000 - Normally a red, but not in a Double Deal situation. Additionally, you've also uncovered the Surprise! That surprise is a 2016 Nissan Rogue ($30,000)!
[12] - $200,000 - That's okay... ish.

Still on the right side of things for now. Cue the offer...

BANKER'S OFFER

$80,000

Acceptée or refusée?

My next two are 20 and 25 please!

For those watching, this is my board:

$10
$150
$400
$1,500

----------
$100,000
$350,000
$400,000
$800,000

Why do I get the feeling that doing so may warrant the attention of a certain American interlocutor...

Anyway, on we go with a two-fer.

Round 5
[20] - $1,500 - Looking good!
[25] - $350,000 - That, less so.

You've still got quite a bit to shoot for, but how far will you take this game? Voici l'offre.

BANKER'S OFFER

$127,000

Acceptée or refusée?

We're at the one-at-a-time stage now. Good offer there, seeing as I need to keep the $400k and $800k for a sizeable uplift, so let's do just that! REFUSÉE!

Case 15, please.

The one-case-at-a-time rounds are what make or break contestants in the 26-case format. We've seen some do remarkably well, but we've seen others fall. Let's hope that you land in Category 1 as opposed to Category 2.

Round 6
[15] - $150 - Yes :D!

So far, so good. The Banker's not hyperventilating yet, but if you keep this pace up, he sure will be.

BANKER'S OFFER

$212,000

Acceptée or refusée?

Great result! :D That is a very tempting offer too, but I do have $50k worth of prizes right now, and I'm in a good position if I can miss that $800k so I shall say REFUSÉE!

Case 18, please!

I would've done the same, Aaron.

Hopefully you miss the top 2 now and put the Banker in a VERY tight spot. :smt023

On we go with case 18...

[18] - $100,000 - Not as bad as some would think.

Statistically, there is a 1-in-4 chance that the $800,000 resides in case 16. But is that enough to get you to go for it? The Banker doesn't think so, which is why you're being offered this:

BANKER'S OFFER

$257,000

There's a reason for this amount. At one point, it was the highest amount won on the TV version. Put that together with the bonuses you've won so far, and you'll be over the $300,000 mark. That alone would tempt some people to deal, but as always, the final say rests with you, Aaron.

Est-ce que cette offre est acceptée or refusée?

Now then! Now now now... I'm trying to play out the different scenarios in my head, and while there's a lot to gain from just one case, there's a lot to lose, and if I do, it could be quite difficult to chase an offer like that again... At this point, I think I'm going to ACCEPTÉ! :smt023

Case 14 would have been next, and then 26 after that one!
