Can't really warm to the new number one tbh... would be a good club tune but that's about it
Not too keen on Little Mix's or Britney's new singles either.

Also heard One Direction's new song this week - it's surprisingly not bad, for them...

Rubbish.

9 (NE) Lady GaGa ft. R Kelly - Do What You Want
It's alright.

I don't mind Lily Allen but that is one of the worst covers I've ever heard. Keane's original is so much better.

Oh and don't get me started on Robbie Williams. I hate that song! It doesn't help that Radio 2 overplayed it to death! :x

This week's top 10:

1 (2) Lily Allen - Somewhere Only We Know
2 (NE) Bastille - Of The Night
3 (NE) Gary Barlow - Let Me Go
4 (3) Ellie Goulding - How Long Will I Love You
5 (4) Eminem ft. Rihanna - The Monster
6 (1) Martin Garrix - Animals
7 (6) Storm Queen - Look Right Through
8 (5) Little Mix - Move
9 (NE) Lily Allen - Hard Out Here
10 (8) One Direction - Story Of My Life

Other new entries/re-entries:

19. JLS - Billion Lights
27. Avicii - Hey Brother
30. Justin Biebr & R. Kelly - P.Y.D.
31. AWOLNATION - Sail
38. Eminem - Berzerk
39. Boyzone - Love Will Save The Day
40. Lana Del Rey - Summertime Sadness (Cedric Gervais Remix)

Gutted Bastille missed out on their first no. 1. :( I actually really liked their cover of 'Rhythm of the Night'.
not so much a fan of Lily Allen's cover song, preferred the original by Keane... but it's still better than that other awful song of hers in the top 10. The video's funny, but the song... ugh.
Don't like Gary Barlow's new song either. Sounds too similar to Mumford & Sons' music

Also, are JLS ever gonna split up? Don't mean that in a bad way, but they announced they were splitting months ago, and they're still releasing music... :?

2 (NE) Bastille - Of The Night
Prefer the original, find this version boring.

3 (NE) Gary Barlow - Let Me Go
Quite catchy actually and his advert with the meerkats for Coronation Street is hilarious!

9 (NE) Lily Allen - Hard Out Here
Haven't heard it.

It's a shame JLS' farewell single didn't get into the Top 10, but nevertheless they've done well in their 5 years together, I hope they are successful in whatever they choose to do as individuals. :)

I've missed this for a few weeks, so I'll just some general thoughts:

- I really wish Bastille had gotten to number one. What a brilliant cover. Talk about taking something, and completely molding it until he's just about recognisable.

- The amount of One Direction singles in the top 40 is a pain, but they're barely troubling the top spot. A performance on X Factor, and a single hyped up to the moon and neither got to number one. I can see them focusing on America now and possibly abandoning the UK, like Cher Lloyd.

- How did Martin Garrix get to number 1? What is this? These are the worst kind of number ones. Miley may be hated, but she'll be remembered. Can anyone truly say that they'll remember "Animals" this time next year?

- "The Monster" is alright, but it pales in comparison to "Love The Way You Lie". Even "Rap God" was better. I think Eminem should release "Headlights" next featuring Nate Ruess. It's quite a touching song.

Don't speak too soon, they've been number 1 on iTunes all week so look set to reach number 1 in the official chart. :P

Only two new entries to the Top 10 so I don't have much to comment as I haven't listened to Avicii's new one and Lady Gaga's I have only heard live on the X Factor so far.

Top 10 this week:

1 (1) Lily Allen - Somewhere Only We Know
2 (8) Avicii - Hey Brother
3 (34) Leona Lewis - One More Sleep
4 (30) Pharrell Williams - Happy
5 (7) Ellie Goulding - How Long Will I Love You
6 (3) Bastille - Of The Night
7 (12) Jason Derulo - Trumpets
8 (5) Gary Barlow - Let Me Go
9 (2) One Direction - Story Of My Life
10 (6) Eminem ft. Rihanna - The Monster

Other new entries/re-entries:

28. Chase & Status ft. Jacob Banks - Alive
33. Justin Bieber ft. Chance the Rapper - Confident
35. Kid Ink ft. Chris Brown - Show Me
36. Sub Focus - Turn Back Time
40. Wham! - Last Christmas

So, Lily Allen remains at the top of the charts, but will she be there next week...? A lot of competition for the Christmas no. 1, so maybe not...

Loving Leona's new song, very good and festive 8) shows her voice really well. I like Pharrell's new song as well

Not a fan of Jason Derulo's new one though.

3 (34) Leona Lewis - One More Sleep
It's alright but far from her best, doesn't really deserve to be this high.

4 (30) Pharrell Williams - Happy
Not bad.

7 (12) Jason Derulo - Trumpets
His third best single out of the four released off this album so far, it's grown on me.

Predictable that it would be number 1; it's not too bad, but it's certainly not the best X Factor Winner's Single.

4 (NE) AC/DC - Highway To Hell
Haven't heard it but probably won't like it.
