8 years ago Tony played and won £20,000 at 8 box his proveout was dreadful as at 5 box he got offered £40,000 and at 2 box £80,000.Thank god £3,000 was in his box. It might of been cautious to some people especially Mark.Noel said he was relieved that the £250,000 was not in Tony's box as it gives everyone else on the wings the belief that it could appear in their games.
Noel. I believe those proveout offers were inflated. Especially the £40,000 one. He had £250,000 and £3,000. Believe me the game after this one is a first for the show.

Ah yes, Toni. Not a terrible £26k deal at 8-box, but she really hadn't taken the game well up to that point and there was no respite up to the £75k/£250k finish. I remember at least one forum member posting some very harsh comments about her, to the point of bemoaning the fact they didn't do the hypo-swap "just to rub it in" . That said, while I did feel sorry for Toni, I did wonder why she'd applied for the show, and I still remember the look on her face when the £75k was revealed in her box...

Indeed. A shame really as her game was good to watch and was a good antidote to Toni's game; certainly more so than Elaine's game the previous day, where a contestant got thrown out of the studio by Noel and put on a passing van heading back to the hotel

9 years ago, my welsh namesake became the second blue winner in DoND history, and the first player to crash to a blue after a significant gamble. He no-dealt an offer of £17,600 on a £10/£100/£1k/£35k/£75k 5-box....and took out all three reds in the last round! :(

A horrible crash was completed when James played to the end and won £10 from his box :( This game was made somewhat infamous by the fact that James had quit his job to be on the show!!

On the other occasion when December 2 fell on a Friday in DoND history, 3 years ago. Nicola completed a real rollercoaster week for player performances by getting a nice OPW from a £13,500 deal at 5-box :)

Don't forget what happened a year ago today. Nenad took the walk of wealth, and he was a bag of nerves throughout. The Banker (over)played on this, making him terrible offers throughout despite the strong board Nenad had, worst of which was offering £26,000 on a £50/£3k/Top 3 five box. :smt011 :smt019 After months of players refusing to decline poor offers and squandering easy Power 5 wins, Nenad FINALLY broke the trend by no dealing that pitiful offer. :D Left with a £50/£75k/£250k 3 box, the Banker made an offer £35,000 and then raised it to £40,0000, which Nenad no dealt as well! He found the £75,000 in the last box, producing a very mixed reaction in the studio. Then, in one of the biggest surprises of 2013, the Banker was so desperate for Nenad not to win the jackpot that he offered £75,000 on a £50/£250k finish.  :D :-D Nenad very sensibly dealt this generous offer and FINALLY ended the drought of Power 5 wins since Paddy's game. :D Had he went on, he would've swapped for the jackpot, but him and Noel weren't at all bothered by it, as he still won a life-changing sum of money.

8 years ago, Ingerlise dealt at £15,000 at 8-box with only the £10k, £35k and £250k on the red side, but joined Debbie as the worse dealer for a £250k when it was revealed in front of her - The first time it appeared on the table since Debbie's game in June!

This was also one of the first times a player really took it badly when they dealt too early and missed out on a huge sum of money :( And ironically, the one person on the wings who was strongly advising Ingerlise to deal at the £15k, was of all people, Donna!!

I have a funny feeling that Donna would've dealt her £21,000 8 box offer even if her boyfriend wasn't there with her.

Why can't i help but think that if it wasn't for Donna's boyfriend being present and Noel's aggressiveness, and she still dealt at the £21,000. Maybe, JUST maybe, she might not have taken the proveouts as bad as she did...

1 year ago was £700 Rosie's game, less said about that game the better  :smt023

3 years ago, Cat had an unlucky game throughout and went away with £100 :(

4 years ago, a very nervous Jan recieved very poor offers on an average board in the later stages of her game, and only got offered £1,000 on a 1p/£10k final 2 :smt019. The final gamble paid of however and Jan won £10,000 :D Not quite an OPW as her highest offer was £12,000, but still a great result from her game :)

7 years ago, The best game on this date was John's game in 2007, where he dealt at a very generous £18,000 on a £3k/£35k, which was a TPW as he could've dealt at £26,000 earlier

9 years ago, Eddie got a good OPW after he dealt at £10,100 on a 2-blues/£3k/£75k 5-box :D I miss those generous 2005 late-game offers :(

The other games on this date were Jaye, Charmaine, and Carla's low red wins. The first two winning £3,000 from their boxes, and Carla dealing £4,000

If box 23 was there back then, she probably wouldn't have dealt it.

You're probably right Mark, but we'll never know for sure. ;)

Rosie is a deservedly at the top of the list on the Horrible Deals Club, and to save time I'll just quote what I wrote there:

Quote:
£700 Rosie: Deservedly has the tittle of WORST DEAL EVER by dealing 10% of the average on a 4 blues/£35,000 5 box. Anyone with an ounce of brains would've either gone on or demanded a higher offer, but instead Rosie firmly stuck by her "something is better than nothing" strategy, refusing to abandon it even when the "something" was almost nothing and there was still a life-changing £35,000 still to play for. She missed out on the STINGIEST final offer on a £35,000-high finish in the show's history (£3,500 on 1p/£35,000) and an INSANELY easy £35,000 thanks to refusing to go past 5 box on any configuration.

Rosie's game was probably one of the reasons box 23 was introduced.

This day has had memorable games for sure

5 years since Corinne's game. Where she no-dealt £88k and won.....1p!!  :( She really deserved to win the £250k with her attitude

6 years since "I mean deal!" Mary's debut on the wings, and Jackie taking a surprise gamble at 5-box on a £250k-strong game which didn't work out

7 years since £40k Ashleigh's game

8 years since Tingly Mike swapping away the 1p and bringing £20k to the table at 17-box and having an 11-box deal for £26,500

9 years since Sara dealt at £31,000....but would've been the first player to have the DREAM ending!
