2 years ago, Scott and the wings did their Arnie impressions. He also dealt £17,101 at 5-box on a board consisting of 10p/50p/£100/£50,000/£100,000 for a Banker :spank :D

A LOT of interesting games took place on this day:

8 years ago, Lofty made a cautious 3rd offer Deal at £18,000. He supposedly missed out on offers of £36,000 and £48,000, though they were both obviously inflated. :smt011 However, he ultimately beat the Banker as there was just 50p in his box.

7 years ago, Jeff also dealt at the 3rd offer, but it was for an ultra-generous £30,000 on a similar board as Lofty's, as the Banker was still making Wakey Winter-esque offers. :smt023 He supposedly missed out on offers of £41,000 and £52,000, but like in Lofty's game those proveout offers were obviously inflated.

6 years ago, Maggie had the task of following up Richard's game. She dealt a reasonable offer of £8,008 (on a 2 blues/£3k/£5k/£100k 5 box) after Janie bluffed the Banker into thinking she was OHO and had the offer raised to that from £7,007. She then took out the £100,000 in the
next round and only had the £5,000 in her box, meaning she also beat the Banker. :smt023

4 years ago today, Steve dealt an ultra-generous 8 box offer of £7,500 with only the £10k and £100k higher, despite the Banker's ploy of promising him that he could go one box at a time if made it to 5 box. He supposedly missed out on a 5 box offer of £20,000  , but thankfully the agony ended there as the £100,000 went on the next box, though he didn't beat the Banker as £10,000 was in his box.

3 years ago, Rob played one of the most heart-breaking games ever. He had a learning disability, though he tried not to let that interfere with his game. He dealt a fair 8 box offer of £8,000 with only the jackpot and £15k higher, sadly he missed out on offers of £14,500 and £75,000 and the jackpot thanks to the hypo-swap. By the time the Banker phoned up with the £75,000 hypo-offer, Rob was crying.

A year ago today, Sam dealt a fair 5 box offer of £19,022 with only the jackpot higher, but sadly missed out on both that and a (supposed) hypo-offer of £97,000.

It's now 3 years since Kerry-Anne made one of the most reckless No Deals ever! She declined £140,000 on a board consisting of £10,000 & £250,000 and had only the former in her box. 8% ABOVE the mean! :smt103

8 years ago today, Patricia dealt a generous £32,000 offer on a 2 blues/£3k/£50k/£250k five box. However, she missed out on a £92,000 "offer" and £250,000 from her box.

7 years ago today, Kascey insta-dealt her generous 8 box offer of £25,000 on a 5 blues/£50k/£75k/£250k board (and I imagine that was partially the reason why the Banker stopped making Wakey Winter-esque offers 2 days later  ). She missed out on a £41,000 five box offer but the agony ended there as she took out all the big money in the final round.

6 years ago today, Deb dealt a slightly stingy 5 box offer of £7,700 on a 2 blues/£5k/£10k/£75k board, which ended up being a wise decision as she took out the £75k in the next round and only had £5 in her box.

5 years ago today, Pat dealt a stingy £5,000 offer on a 3 blues/£15k/£50k five box despite it being the lowest offer of her game. Good thing she did, for if she went on she would've crashed to an all-blue finish and leave with just £50 from her box.

4 years ago, David dealt an ultra-generous £8,000 offer on a 3 blues/£3k/£50k five box. Unfortunately, as that was his lowest offer of the game, he ended up with a Player Spanking for had he gone on he would've kept the £50,000 to the end and swapped for it. :(

3 years ago today, Kerry-Anne made (in my opinion) the most RECKLESS decision in the history of the show, turning down an AMO of £140,000 on a £10k/£250k finish. :smt018 Her recklessness was deservedly punished as she only won £10,000 from her box.

2 years ago today, Leila had an unavoidable train-wreck and left with just £50. :(

A year ago today, Ann dealt a fairly generous 5 box offer of £22,000 on a 2 blues/£10k/£15k/£250k five box despite seeing both of the previous players before her undersell the jackpot. She then wiped out all the reds in the final round for a Banker Spanking. :D

I think Pat from 5 years ago was one of the show's forgotten black widows. Didn't she have something like 13 reds in a row while on the wings?!

Last year, Aurea's game looked like it was heading for a trainwreck until she pulled out the 10% perfect round at round 5 to finish with £5,000 & £15,000 at 2-box. She declined the offer of £9,000 and opened the box for £15,000 resulting in a Banker :spank :D

That means it has now been a year since the perfect final roumd week, where 5 of 6 players hit the 10% perfect final round (with one of them being the perfect proveout round) and the remaining player (Bradley) hit the 2nd best final round and dealt the final offer for a Banker Spanking.

6 years ago, Steve (and his wife Lynette, who were paying for a special cause) bravely no-dealt £25,000 at 5-box with the £100k and £250k in play at 5-box, to go for the dream finish

Sadly, Steve crashed in the final round, and when all the way to win a consolation £3,000

The £25k at 5-box was an interesting decision, as it was fairly poor offer for the board, but one could say that he should've taken it given the whole 'No one wins more than £20k' rubbish (which by the way was one of the worst gimmicks in DoND history ) at the time, so they could shut the bankers big mouth

2 years ago, McFly played one of the celeb specials. They won £10,000 from the box after bravely declining the Banker's 4 and 3-box offers and a generous £4,000 on a 1p/£10,000 finish.

Tomorrow will be a year since Surwanna played. She got one box at a time at 5-box, and dealt £13k at 3-box for a spanking.

Before and after that show, this was filmed!

6 years ago was when the late Deano played his game and scored an OPW after taking the offer of £17,019 with only the QM higher than it, and finding the big money in the last round! :D Along with being a brilliant character and giving us one of the few positive games of Summer 2008 (Shame it was somewhat overshadowed by the stupid 'No one wins more than £20k' gimmick from Richard's game ), Deano was also best known for giving box 22 it's pet name 'The Death Box'

Sadly, Deano passed away in January 2011 after falling ill with swine flu, as this thread explains :( viewtopic.php?f=1&t=21176

Yup, remember his game very well. Does not seem like 6 years ago though! He said he wanted the money to help find his dad (I think)... though it's currently unknown if he actually found him.

I know this isn't deal-related but....

The Harlem Shake is one of the WORST songs ever, and was only popular because of everyone copying and dancing to the first 30 seconds of it.

It's popularity was about as fickle as a Little Tree car-freshener - Like a Little Tree loses it's scent quickly, All the hype and popularity surrounding the Harlem Shake lasted no more than a couple of months, before a sharp descent into obscurity, and by the end of 2013, people were thinking "The Harlem WHAT?"

Last year, Ryan dealt an ultra generous £16,000 on a board consisting of £5/£1,000/£15,000/£20,000/£75,000 after having declined the Governor and taking out £50,000 & £250,000 in the previous round. His final 2 boxes were £5 & £15,000. The latter was in his box.

Why can't the Banker offer "rewarding courage" offers like that nowadays? :smt011

Oh yes, I forgot about THAT game. :smt011 :smt019 We have Iris to thank for encouraging the Banker to go into super-cheap mode. :smt013

Iris' game showed just how desperate the producers are to prevent another second round deal. Knocking £7k off an offer just because a player shows a hint of dealing... Sheesh. Then they tried covering their tracks by making the last few offers even less dealable. The whole thing was a bit of a sorry state, really. But hey, Iris went home happy!
