I couldn't be sure, but Trevor Bruce, who is often mentioned here in comments and reminiscences, said at the beginning of his show he was from Sheffield and used to work for newspapers in the city; if there was no further change to that situation, he appears to have passed away in November 2019, aged 81.

Was that “1p” Trevor?

That'll be the one - dreamed of going to Australia, leaving money for his grandchildren, turned down £9,900 penultimate offer on the basis that it could get him to Oz but he wouldn't have anything left to give the kids...one box-opening away from paradise, but it wasn't to be.

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

...and Doug May, who won £75,000 in March 2007 but had his benefit payments stopped as a result, apparently passed away in the autumn of 2012. He'd have been 82. It's a very strange rule that if you suddenly have more than X amount, you have to make yourself destitute before you're eligible for benefits again. This was under a Labour government too! :|

I'm absolutely delighted to report that John Mobey, which played on 4 September 2007, appears to have died in spring 2012.
Yes, that was very much deliberate.
