Reg's game today.

Noel says he's angry  He climbs on the table and shouts how we were robbed! Because yesterday's player was a gambler - but the boxes didn't go her way and says how she left with a modest sum of money but we felt slightly cheated - he wants today's player to pick up Jill's gambling genes...

Hahah wow... quite a way to start the show there Noel :P

Reg is a legend, this is going to be a good game!

(Minimal last minute stats from me today.. but hopefully I'll do all the rounds unlike yesterday)

Reg had a blue yesterday, so he should have a red in his box

Just hope it's the QM and not £20,000 again... :?

Reg has box 20, and Noel asks him to kindly make his delivery to the pound table

Francis Reg Heathcote is from Cumbria and is a retired postman. He was a postman for over 40 years and enjoyed his time as a postman. He says he applied for DOND as you no need knowledge to win money :P His wife Vera is in the audience and Noel takes advantage of saying "Hello Vera" as it sounds like Aloe Vera :P Noel talks about Reg making special deliveries to Vera.

It's their 25th wedding anniversary in May, and he'd like to go on holiday or a world cruise if he wins £250k. He says in 1994/1995, he was a mayor of his local town

Here we go...

Reg goes to start but Noel hasn't done his housekeeping yet :P Reg says he's too keen to get started... Noel shouts good luck at him, the audience applaud loudly and we're off with Paul and number 6. Noel talks about how Paul wants breast implants if he wins enough money, so he knows what having it done is like...

6 - Paul - £5

1 - Laura - £35,000 :?

Reg says he is doing this at random, and has no system at all and says that one box is as good as another... Noel wonders how he's choosing the boxes though, and Reg says he's drawn to the person opening the box more than the box itself or the box number

12 - Justin - £20,000

Reg says he might change his non-existant system and Noel says how about doing favourite house numbers from when he was a postie... Reg says he now lives at number 8... Noel says box 8 could have £250k and Reg says any box could have it - Noel says he's only trying to build up some drama :-D

8 - Margaret - £250,000

Noel shouts "WHAT DID I SAY! I TRIED TO WARN YOU!!!" Reg says that's knocked the stuffing out of it... Noel says he tried to warn Reg!!!!!!!!

Reg chooses 15 and Ken and Noel says not to go for him...

15 - Ken - £100

Time for the banker...

Calm down Noel

Noel's lost it big time!

Noel says he was angry after Jill's game yesterday, but he says he can't bond with Reg at all as he's a rebel! The banker wonders if Noel's wearing a shirt that looks like a hill because Reg lives in Cumbria.

The banker says the fire alarm went off at the hotel, and the contestants were gathering outside, and someone hadn't gone back to their own room. :suspect: Apparently Phil might have something to do with it... the culprit apparently looks like a bar of dairy milk chocolate, and the camera zooms in on Sarah who is dressed in a purple dress :P

Banker's offer

He NO DEALS

Noel wonders why the offer was £4,141 and Reg doesn't know... and says he's worried as he doesn't know

Reg chooses 22 as he used to live at number 22 before living at number 8 :P Noel says this'll be £100k but Reg says lightning doesn't strike twice...

22 - Jean - £3,000

10 - Sarah - 50p

Reg wonders if it's time we had a break... and Noel agrees... Reg says we should enjoy our cup of tea and come back and support Reg, as he needs it...

Noel asks Reg if he has all his bits and Reg says "Pardon?" :P Noel is talking about whether if any dogs have bitten Reg, and Reg says lots of dogs have... and he tells some stories about how a dog nearly bit one of his fingers off, and how he once had a run in with a flock of geese on a farm... Noel asks if any humans have had a go at Reg, and he says luckily not... Noel takes a while to answer the phone and Reg wonders what the banker will say now

The £4,141 offer was because Reg was a postie for 41 years

3 - newbie Dave - £1,000

11 - Andy - £1

Reg says that causes him a problem. His wife says it's a very good offer but it's up to Reg. Sarah says it's a good board and it's nice and steady - Reg says if he can just get rid of 3 blues, it'd be perfect... Phil says it's easy for them to say no deal as it's not their money, and that it's Reg's decision...

Reg says NO DEAL

I think the banker prefers claret...

Anyway, sounds like a brilliant game. Well done Reg!

there have been few games recently when the player dealt at the right time, plus that was the quickest someone has said deal, didn't have time for the music.

Well done on the £17,500, i thought it might have been £20,00.

Every offer today from the second to the fifth was just about low enough to drag me on.

Am very glad that for Reg, every offer today from the second to the fourth was low enough to drag him on, but the fifth wasn't!

Posted: Thu Feb 21, 2008 20:47
Good game today with the perfect result for Reg. I was surprised at how quick he dealt though.

It was kind of like the Reg and Noel show today with all their banter :D

Posted: Thu Feb 21, 2008 20:51
Blimey, that was unexpected! Usually my favourites end up doing deals that turn out awful, but that was the perfect "wrong deal at the right time" I've ever seen - I was expecting the banker to offer £26,041 there!!

Anyway, it was the most enjoyable show since Clive's - a combination of the contestant, the wing banter and the gameplay (i.e. - no "it's not enough, what a DISASTER"!!!) , and also knowing that Reg avoided winning £50 like so many of us would have done (including me, and I'm hardly the biggest gambler in the world)!

Well done Reg, you'll be truly missed!!

Posted: Thu Feb 21, 2008 21:02
Great show today, and probably my favourite show of the month.

It had all the ingredients - great player; amusing banter with the banker, Noel, the player and the other contestants; a good game, and to top it all an OPW.

Well done Reg! :smt023

Posted: Thu Feb 21, 2008 21:03
He was undeniably a little fortunate to pull out the perfect proveout but I certainly don't begrudge him dealing after providing us with one of the most entertaining games for a while! Looking forward to a number of the current crop playing their games - the show is in one of its 'peaks' at the minute (in terms of characters) I reckon.

Posted: Thu Feb 21, 2008 21:27
A great game. Entertaining player and Noel going off on not one but two rants. Oh and a OPW that came completely out of the blue.

Ironic after Noel's rant at the beginning that had Jill played today, she would have crashed and burned today, as many of us would have done.

Posted: Thu Feb 21, 2008 21:39
Good point Simon! Didn't catch the show today but sounded good from here (barring Noel losing the plot a bit it seems...)

I can't help but think when they have a running theme in the offers, they end up lower than they'd otherwise be. Overall though, a good result for Reg from a game that could so easily have swung in the banker's favour and led to an overly cautious game tomorrow!

Posted: Thu Feb 21, 2008 22:38
Thats more like it, a truly enjoyable game.

A fantastic player, Reg will be definitely missed. Plus, a nice selection of banter with the banker and contestants plus an outright win.

Well done!

Best show since Clives for banter and general entertainment, pity the £ 17k offer was derisory for the board at the time ( should have been at least £20,041) but a great deal and proveout, even going as far as having the lowest of the last 2 values in his box, making it a maximum OPW.

Well done Reg.

Jim

Really entertaining show today - the best this month and the best since Clive's. Just proves you don't need a big money win for a classic game - but I really hope we get one soon.

It was a fantastic game to watch - there ws so many things that happened in the game that I was worried would end up on the cutting room floor. But thankfully the Noel climbing on the table, him yelling at Reg when he went with his house number and it having the £250,000...it really was a fantastic game! :D

Throughout the game he asked his partner Vera about money for a loft conversion - so once that £17,041 offer was made, because it was over £15,000 we all knew he wasn't going to be greedy. So when he dealt, we all cheered for him, even though there were quite a few in the audience who thought he'd bottled it!

Thankfully, he didn't of course!!!

As I've already said, I could tell Reg was a popular figure on the show, but over this last month I had no idea HOW popular he was - and biased or not, this has to be my Show of the Month! :D

Really entertaining game -- you certainly chose the right one to watch, Davey!

(BTW -- white sleeves in the front row??? I thought the audience were supposed to be dressed inconspicuously?!)

IMHO this lot of contestants are the most entertaining since the Brian/Siobhan/Vicky crowd last August.

My top was navy mostly, plus my friend had the disabled spot so whenever I do go, I'll probably be somewhere around the front! The shows I went to see yesterday, I was right behind the table again, like I was in Alan's game, and in the second show I was in the same place I was for Reg's game.

And from where I was standing, you physically could not stop looking at Kate!!!

OK I've been unable to comment here/ watch recent games etc because of recent computer trouble and this sounds like a nice feel good game but will we ever get a big finish?!

Posted: Fri Feb 22, 2008 11:26
Now I can talk about it in the past tense, you can't tell me off for saying it in here now.

When we were there, we were told we didn't have a big win in a long time and were long overdue one.

Now that that game has been played, hopefully there will be a change in the winds. As both myself and Alex have said on numerous occasions, anything of a Power Five value would suffice, particularly over £50,000.
