At the time I thought she was silly for turning down the £25,500, but I guess that she was probably right in doing so - I bet she thought that £75k/blue wouldn't produce a worse offer - the banker was extremely lucky to get away with those tactics. That £15.5k was cruel, and almost as bad as offering PJ a swap. :(

It was definitely her dad she was on Brainteaser with. She only beat him 'cos he kept shouting out the answers without buzzing...

One year ago today was the turn of Colin’s game! Colin, who saw elephants in his boxes, played after only 13 shows on the wings and had box 15 for his game.

He hit the £250k in the first box, but also pulled out four other low numbers, meaning his offer wasn’t too bad at £2,200, although it’s very low by today’s standards! The first box of the second round was £100,000…. followed by two low numbers, meaning his offer rose to £4,400, and after another good round, his third offer was £8,800, which he no dealt.

After a mixed fourth round and an offer of £3,300, Colin played on and dealt the fifth offer of £10,000 with £75k, £35k, £5k and two blues remaining. His final two were £250 and £75k and his hypothetical final offer was £22,000… he had £250 in his box.

deserved 13 shows - anyone who really does see elephants in their boxes should do about, er, 10 shows before they send him/her back to the mental hospital :-D

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

So Colin 2 didn't play today then... perhaps fortunately though as he had £1, it could have turned out even worse than Juliah's game!

The month of May 2006 started with Francesca on May 1st and finished with Fran on May 31st. After a good opening round and an opener of £7,900, she hit the £250k and her second offer was £3,100. Her third round was a mixed bag, pulling out the £50k and two blues, but it meant her offer was raised to £10,000! After a similar fourth round, hitting the £35k and two blues, the banker stuck at £10,000, and Fran no dealt. However she hit the £100k in the fifth round, reducing her offer to £5,000. Fran played on and was offered £28,000 on a £500 vs £75k final two and she dealt, but had £75k in her box! :(

Wow, this really was the era of the £75,000.

Fran was absolutely ace, though! I missed her game sadly cus I was in Ireland (ditto Simone and Colin's) but I saw the Hall of Fame video and it rocks!

The beginning of the month got off to a buzz with Frank Sinatra lover Buzz playing his game after 25 shows on the wings on June 1st 2006!! :P

Buzz played with box 21 and after an all-red opening round, including hitting the top 3 of the power 5, he received an offer of £514, based on the date of the death of Frank Sinatra (May 14th).

His all-red opening round was followed by an all-blue second round and an offer of £1,915 (the year Sinatra was born).

He then hit the £50k and his third offer was £1,000. Buzz managed to turn things around, and after two more good rounds, he turned down offers of £4,000 and £8,200, to be left with a final two of £100 and £35k and an offer of £9,800, which he dealt.

It turned out he had £100 in his box, meaning Buzz really did get the most out of his game, despite the bad start, proving the old motto that it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish... and Buzz did it his way! ;)

One year ago today was the turn of Steve in the crazy chair! Her real name was of course Cynthia Saggers… she played after 22 shows on the wings and had box 12 in her show. At the start, Noel brought out flowers from the banker as Stevie had been a black widow on the wings and the banker loved her for destroying people’s games!! She also had a famous motto of “Keep goin’! Keep goin’!”.

After an average opening round, including hitting the £75k, Stevie had an opening offer of £7,007 (007 as she was the banker’s spy). She played on and after a similarly average second round, she no dealt the £5,000 offer. A good third round resulted in an offer of £10,000, which she no dealt, and was then offered £21,056 at the fourth offer!

She remained true to her motto and kept going, only to take out the high numbers and be faced with a fifth offer of £11,000. She no dealt that and then dealt the final offer of £1,300 on a £500 vs £3,000 board – and she had the £3k in her box, resulting in an outright player loss!

BUT STEVIE WAS A LEGEND!!!

KEEP GOIN'

Stevie was one of the best players of all time! Also her game was another example of a legend on the wings having a disaster on the chair :(
