It's Scottish Gill's game today!

Apparantely, at this point, Gill was the most popular ever player because she buys all of the drinks! :-D

Gill has box 18

John (Box 22)- £10,000

Gill goes to Jim. He thinks that she is going for all of the old men first :-D

Jim (Box 10)- 1p (Yay!) BANANA!

Vanessa (Box 5)- £100

Noel says that Geordie is a great guy! Bet he wouldn't say that these days. Don't worry, we love you Geordie!

Geordie (Box 12)- 10p

Charles (Box 3)- £100,000

Oohh, and that ruined the opening round!

Noel wonders if Gill will be the first to go at offer 1 (I dreamt that Carol did that last night  and it was a £2,400 offer)

The banker speaks to Gill. She says that he scared her!!

The banker told Gill that it isn't a popularity contest and that her look won't last.

Banker offers-

£2,800

Gill thinks it is fair but she is ready.

No Deal!

Miguel (Box 14)- £3,000

Linda :) (Box 1)- £10

Noel says that this is feeling very very good.

Jessica (Box 7)- AFTER THE BREAK!

Terry is always right!

I don't really remember this game to be honest, but Terry's was one of my favourites, as was Julie's and they followed this one. One of the rare runs of 3 OPWs on the trot

Interesting to see this line-up again, as it was around the time I first started watching regularly.

There's a lot there who didn't really stick in the memory, but great to see Geordie behind the boxes again! Not too many have matched his enthusiasm since...

I think Aaron (Bushy) was close because he was very enthusiastic on the wings, but Geordie was definitely hugely enthusiastic! October Lisa was another who I found very enthusiastic (probably the wiggle and the dance that made me think that though :-D)

The banker says that the next round will be disastrous (in some respects, he is spot on too....)

His offer is

£8,100

In terms of Early January 2006 offers, that is a very good offer.

Nice to see Noel concentrating a lot more on the significance of the offers and being more neutral than he is nowadays!

agreed, his assumption about third offer dealers nowadays is ridiculous even when someone deals for a lot of money.

Liz (who looks like Madonna apparently ) (box 6)- £1,000

Perfection according to Noel. Actually, 50p is perfection but still....

Aileen (Box 2)- £250,000

Typical black widow move there!

Noel thinks that £8,100 takes on a huge significance now.

Marie (Box 11)- Noel asks why? Gill should've said 'why not?'

£50,000

Bad round there!

Banker time!

Gill guesses that the offer has gone down. She takes a guess at £2,000 to £3,000.

The offer is-

£1,600

Gill says that the odds are in her favour.

NO DEAL

I can't believe Noel was actually getting her to seriously consider the second offer of £8,100! Compare that to how he is nowadays.

Terry (Box 21)- £50

(His game should be repeated as a classic, it was one of the really great OPWs of its time)

Ann (Box 20)- £1

Scottish Ann brings the luck of the scottish to Scottish Gill. That's nice!

Noel helps Gill to pick the 3rd box.......

By calling a BREAK

Something I have noticed is that in the old games, there is a lot less participation from the other contestants and a lot more focus on the game itself, the offers and the state of the board. Whilst I like the latter, I think the lack of the former means that the older games lack something compared to some of the more recent games, although of course things have gone OTT at times in the past year or so, what with all the extra gimmicks, which were particularly evident in around about December 2006 - April 2007 time. I have to say that the balance between the involvement of the other contestants, the player and the analysis of the board and the offers is at its best as it is at the moment.

I totally agree. He should be much more neutral, like he was back then. Not squawking like a chicken when people in the audience say that they would deal!

Back with the 14th box of the game-

Mumtaz (box 16)- £5

Yay, an all blue round.

Another thing that I noticed is that all of the players remain perfectly planted in their seats which is good in some cases and is bad in other cases. I think it is good in this game though.

The banker respects Gill and the offer is-

£7,200

Gill says that it is a lot of money. Noel tells her to think of 720 £10 notes. He keeps talking about it is real money.

I think Noel needs to rewatch all of the old episodes to give him an idea of how to act these days.

No deal!

Noel calls that brave and is worried.
