Yeah the forum was much quieter in those days, well the show threads were at least. Surprised to see I posted on that one, as it wasn't long after I joined and didn't post that much in the early days.

Interesting to see Bushy (aka Aaron who replaced Germaine the following day) posting on there as well!

I LOVED that game! He played it exactly right if you ask me. Kept his cards close to his chest, didn't give any info about a target as such away to the banker, no-dealed all the crap offers, and dealt the no-brainer. Maybe not one of the all-time legendary contestants, but a legendary player of the game! Interesting that everyone thought the £75k offer was crap at the time - I think they were still experimenting at the time with the "How low would we go to make them REALLY unsure at the end"? They were getting there but £75k would probably be double a lot of people's tipping points!

Also - I LOVED the Cheeseman banter, and also Jim R actually sounded quite sensible when asked for advice - I guess he just tunred into a maniac when he played!

The £75K offer is the only one that would have looked good by today's standards. I think the rest of Germaine's offers would have been no dealt today by all but the most cautious players.

i think maybe £11,000 was a bit low, although it would have been £17.5k at the most for me in that pos.

£28,000 well i dont know. Some idiot shouted "OOH YAY!!!!!!" at that but then back in those days you didnt get £15,000 openers unless you were...well you just didnt. I would have offered around that just to tempt the player to go on and take out the quarter mill. £75k was definitely the only offer that would fit in today methinks

Also it was great to hear Noel at the end saying how wise and prudent his decision to deal had been - nowadays it'd be how he squandered the chance of a lifetime and what a prat he was for missing out on £175k, even with a 50:50 chance of having a quid....

And I couldn't stop laughing at the shots of the wings at the start of the game - they all looked SO miserable - it was almost as if it was a line up for an identity parade at a prison or something!

When he said: "You've either got a pound in that box, or you are our first ever quarter-of-a-millionaire!", he obviously forgot about the upcoming offer and how difficult it would be to turn it down!

Germaine's game was great and it is always great to see, he is a funny person who is a friend to everyone. I really enjoyed the show.
