Second player to have blown the chances of getting the £250,000.

If he had gone all the way, we would still not be waiting for the first male £250,000 winner.

Offer would have been £145,000 at 2-box with £250,000/£100?! Behave! That's way above the average!

These days it would be around £60,000 / £80,000...

Mally's final offer is one of the weirdest in the history of the show. I wonder if it really would've been that in live play?! :suspect:

It's hard to tell.

I understand the show was still finding it's feet so perhaps the banker didn't know where to pitch the offers, but that final offer was way out!

The offer suddenly went from £6,900 at 8-box to £54,000 at 5-box? That's seriously odd!!

The offers jumped wildly back in those days. A jump of nearly 50k between Offer 4 and Offer 5 would never happen these days. It was only about the game not the player at the beginning.

£54k was pretty much the average so it would be silly to turn that down.
£145k is 16% above the average at 2-box which is WAY INFLATED!

If that was Kerry-Anne playing, she'd probably win the £250k! :o

I don't know if Mally will be more remembered for one outrageous 5-box offer, an even more ridiculous 2-box proveout or coining Mally's Law (which still gets used by some contestants in 2011 - assuming that if a player has a big amount the game before, they won't have it that game).

Just been totting up the totals from Deal-Eye's point of view with these games - currently trailing 5-3 over the players after 19 games, so holding up pretty well so far!

Eleven games where Deal-Eye did the same as the player - not unexpected of course because there were so many games (like this one) where practically everyone should have taken the same offer!

I much preferred the simplicity of the game back in those days, turning more and more into a freak show now
