The dynamics of that five-box board are completely changed now that the Banker knows he doesn't have to go anywhere near the mean on power 5/blue finishes most of the time. With a 60% chance of exactly that sort of finish, turning down £29k would be clearly EV- now unless you went to the end, but back then it was much more viable.

The £14k would also be a Deal now, but not then.
