Can't blame Simon for declining 13k there, I would've done the same especially with how generous the 2005 Banker often was when the 250k stayed deep. Sadly the luck wasn't on is side and the Banker made an uncharacteristic (for the time) punishment offer at 5 box rather than a decent get out.

Also I gotta laugh at Simon not evening acknowledging the final offer, I'd probably try to do the same if I got a insultingly low offer. I believe this the last time the question wasn't formally asked for a financial offer, as like with Who Wants to be a Millionaire with the term "final answer" the show really cracked down on making sure there was a clear and final decision at every point after the initial batch of episodes.

I did actually think £4,000 was a fair offer at that stage, but I can't imagine there'd be many people who would have accepted it with the £15,000 and £35,000 still out there, and the £1,000 for a reliable back-up. To remove all three in succession was just rotten, rotten luck.
