'After yesterday's horrible, tragic game, we need to get right back into action and fight the Banker without fear or pity.' It's hard to know what to make of what Noel said there. Nick comes to the table and says right away he believes in fate and destiny and is also a poker player. He says he thinks this might just be his lucky day. 'That's just what we wanted to hear after yesterday.'

Box 4 (Alan) - £1! 'There we go! Ideal start!'
Box 9 (Lyndsey) - £250. More cheers.
Box 22 - £10! 'Keep this up, this feels special already...'
Box 1 - £500! 'I don't think we've ever had an all-blue opening round' Noel claims, desecrating the memory of Shell.
Box 8 - £10,000. Nick immediately shrugs it off as 'fine'.

The Banker says Nick should believe that this is the Banker's lucky year and that he is going to be crushed like everyone else who comes to the table!

Banker's offer:

Nick nods, smiles, NO DEALS and moves on.

Box 15 - £1,000. 'Absolutely fine!'
Box 17 - £3,000! 'We're on a roll, don't stop this...' Nick picks the next box and it's opened before the break!
Box 12 - £100,000! Nick gulps. 'Should have given it a few minutes to think.' We do call a break...

The Banker says Nick needs to be more careful handling his chips!!!

Nick asks why the offer was that, Noel says it's the Banker making you count the money precisely, Nick says they don't pay the money in casino chips!! Noel then adds that Irene could probably have been paid in cash yesterday!!

NO DEAL it is here though.

Box 20 - £75,000! Nick doesn't look happy.
Box 2 (Liz) - £50,000! Noel says this is suddenly looking very precarious, and he is reminded of yesterday when the £50,000 and £75,000 went together...
Box 10 - £250,000!! Nick just collapses in shock. 'The WORST POSSIBLE ROUND!'

The Banker declares Nick will be the first 1p winner... and claims his 1p in advance!

Banker's offer:

Nick, still staggered, NO DEALS. Noel is lost for words.

Box 11 - £5! 'We needed that!' Nick feels a little better already.
Box 16 - £100! Noel declares that we really need an all-blue round...

Box 14 (Jenna) - £5,000. Nick says it could have been worse. The Banker points to the block of three, but says they will all go in this round!

'He could have offered six grand again,' Nick says. Terry says there is 'very little chance' of taking out all three in the block...

Nick says NO DEAL. 'Come on, let's 'ave 'im!' declares Noel.

Box 18 - £35,000! The crowd are horrified. Nick's not much happier.
Box 19 - 50p! 'Relief!' Nick says 'I've still got another one to get rid of before I can be relieved!'

The Banker says this should seriously be enough... so he's dropping the amusing theme of these offers and making a 'straightforward, serious offer for you to seriously consider'.

Terry says that's not bad. Nick says he's come to win. Noel says there are two boxes he can still do that with, and three boxes that he can lose with, including the 1p...

Nick says NO DEAL

Box 21 - £20,000! Gasps. 'Still 15 there.'
Box 7 - 'The lucky number has to bring good fortune, or this game is over.' - £750!

'For the third game in a row, we've reached the final offer in play with a red and a blue. Max turned his offer down, and it worked. Irene turned her offer down, and it would have worked, but she swapped. What will you do?'

The Banker says that if he wants to win, he should take this...

Nick says that wouldn't win him the game because of the first offer, Terry says it's generous, Arlette says Deal... Nick says NO DEAL. 'It's all or nothing, it's worth going for.'

Noel says he can't be faulted for his attitude to the game...

The Banker offers the swap. Nick says he wants to 'banish the demons' of the last game, so chooses to SWAP.

Noel reckons that if he's bringing £50 to the table in box 3, the demons are not going to be banished, they are going to be strengthened! Nick says that's the chance you take in life sometimes...

his new box contains £15,000! 'Extraordinary!' Box 5 had £50... Noel says that's what coming out fighting can do... and he hopes that inspires tomorrow's player!

Is that Nick Bain's game (the founder of the 1p club?)

Interesting you've envisaged Nick was a big Wakeyist - I'm not sure he was based on his game, I think the only dealabale offer he had in his real game was the £4,500 at 8-box and I think many feel they couldn;t deal for a low 4-figure sum with 75k still on the board, albeit very exposed!!

Interesting that it look ages for someone in the real version of the game to do a better swap than that!!

I think he was a chase-the-OPW type to be honest, £7k on blue/£20k would have had him out as that would have left the OPW on! I agonised quite a lot over the final two decisions and especially the last one, I've literally no idea what he'd have done but felt he could easily be sucked in by the fact it wasn't the peak offer!

Also notice Nick, while immediately coming off of Irene having a trainwreck like in his real game, was preceded shortly before then by Max pulling off a great comeback OPW - I reckon he'd have been influenced by that, especially as Noel bought it up!

I also think that if he had a different board - and though this wasn't really better it was different with more ways of 'winning' - he'd have spun a Wakeyist yarn what with his poker playing!

He kept saying whatever happened was meant to happen...so I reckon he'd have played to the latter stages at least, for sure!
