Episode 51, December 29 2005 @ 5:15pm
Player: Louise - has box 14

We're into this pretty quickly, Louise introduces her daughter and it's a fast introduction today. Promising?

I don't have names for who opened which box on this game as the BB commentary missed it, this site wasn't around at this point and More4 never aired it!

Box 22 - £50
Box 1 - 'right over the other end, let's hope for another blue' - £3,000. 'Nope... it's OK though.'
Box 8 - 10p! Cheers.
Box 3 - 1p! 'Perfect two boxes!' Noel hypes up this opening round as 'superb'...
Box 4 - £1! 'What a sensational start!'

The Banker says this is his biggest ever opening offer!

Banker's offer:

£9,500

Louise says he could have just offered £10,000! She admits it's a 'brilliant offer' but says NO DEAL.

Noel says we need to keep this up!

Box 6 - £10! Noel says this is now unprecedented in the show's history.
Box 2 = £500! The crowd are well and truly rocking now. Noel says we HAVE to come back after the break as this is extraordinary and we may never see this again...
Box 19 = £20,000. Noel insists it's still fine as we have 'a huge power block of five still in play'!

The real show had hinted at a 'Power 4' in Jennifer's game, but the first recorded reference to 'Power 5' is in 1p Nick's game!

The Banker says he wants Louise to be the first person to be gone before the fourth offer, and thinks she will be...

Banker's offer:

£14,000

Louise admits that's a lot of money, but her daughter advises playing on with the board she has, and NO DEAL it is.

Noel wants to keep all of this 'Power 5' to the next offer...

Box 5 - £35,000. Groans. 'But! We still have a Power 4!'
Box 15 - £15,000. Louise says she now wants a blue.
Box 21 - £1,000. 'Near enough!' insists Noel.

The Banker seizes on the all-red round...

Banker's offer:

£12,500

This draws some groans. Louise says NO DEAL.

Noel points out that the Banker's hope for someone to deal at the third offer has been thwarted...

Box 11 -£10,000. Noel says if we keep all of the Power 4 to the next phone call, it will be a very interesting conversation as it will be an even better board than Jennifer's, who was offered £33,000 at that point...
Box 17 - £100,000! Big groans. Louise says Noel jinxed it! After the break...
Box 9 - £50,000! Big groans. Noel hypes up the continued presence of £250,000 - 'you could still be the first person to win a quarter of a million pounds on daytime television' he says, slowly and earnestly.

Eight-box
50p
£5
£100
£250
£750

£5,000
£75,000
£250,000

The Banker says he will have none of that!

Banker's offer:

£15,000

Surprised applause after the increase in the offer. Terry says it is a dangerous board. Max says there's still too much to play for. Nick says it's almost all-or-nothing. Noel points out that nobody's won the £250,000 yet and as long as it's on the board it can be won, but the same could be said of 50p... Louise asks if anyone's won that one yet and Noel says he doesn't think so! Correctly at that point, as we all know.

Louise, after a long think, decides to DEAL.

'Now we want to take out £75,000 and the quarter of a million just like that and get it over with.'

Box 12 - £250. 'Nope.'
Box 20 = £5! Big groans.
Box 7 = £5,000. 'Not enough - you did go one deal too soon.'

Banker's offer would've been:

£44,000

To gasps from a horrified crowd.

'We definitely need to find those two now.'

Box 13 - £750!
Box 10 = £100! 'Please, please don't find the 50p now.'
Box 16 = 50p! Utter shock...

Two-box showdown
£75,000
£250,000

The Banker says this is the third time this month that someone has left the £250,000 with another huge sum of money at the end but has already dealt, and says this game is too easy!!

Banker's offer would've been:

£160,000

The crowd are horrified. Noel is left to ask whether the £250,000 has come to the table...

Box 14 - £250,000! Louise is left in shock. Noel reminds her she still has £15,000...

Box 18 had £75,000.

Noel says he doesn't know how to end that game, other than to say it proves the big money can be won...

I think I'd have won £44,000 there...Normally I'd be stuck at £15,000 on that board but big offers on a one-box game would have probably pushed me on.

Good series.

Yes, that was definitely a configuration where the late-game offer patterns of the time were worth a good five grand (if not ten!) to what I'd Deal there!

I would deal at £44,000 myself.

Oh dear.

It seems as though the men thrash the banker in this, the women don't!!!

But in a clear 2-box game at 8-box, I think either approcach was acceptable there, just a shame it went totally against her.

Loving the series!!!

Just wait until the next game when Max plays... he was aggressive before with four near-perfect Deals preceding him, what is he going to be like following THAT?!?
