Box 5 - £100,000

Groans. 'I'm sorry, I did it wrong,' Pawel apologises. 'No, Pawel, don't apologise, it's what's IN the box!' calls out Jacqui.

'Box 12 please.' That's Terry. 'And I'm going to prove it's what's in the box, by opening my box like Pawel opened his, but revealing a tiny sum for you.'

Box 12 - £300

'Told ya!' roars Terry in a deep voice that drowns out the crowd a little.

'Obviously the luck of the Welsh, so I'll go with Meinir and Box 14.'

Box 14 - £30,000

'Obviously I was wrong about the luck of the Welsh,' remarks Jacqui sadly.

'One more, and we absolutely MUST NOT see £300,000.'

'£300,000 can't be in 3, can it? Box 3, Oliver.'

'Oliver... quite simply, this is for the good of your region. Open Box 3.'

Box 3 - £200

'Thank goodness for that!' Patrick cries. Jacqui and Oliver think the same.

'Someone's not going to be happy...'

A long pause. No call.

Silence.

'I think he needs a break.'

A break duly arrives, and the phone rings immediately after the break. 'Welcome... back to... the show where I have to answer the damn phone!' jokes Patrick, who says the Banker is unhappy with that attitude to his phone calls.

'OK, we're slowly getting somewhere Jacqui. We're now at £6,900.'

'Any advice needed?'

'I don't think so yet, but I'd like Donald's analysis of the situation.'

Donald obliges: 'Not all that bad really - there's over £400,000 on the board, even if most of that is concentrated in just one box. £6,900 would not be unreasonably high if you lost £300,000, which means it is definitely unreasonably low while you still have it.'

'I thought as much. Thank you Donald. Patrick, I'm ready.'

'£6,900... Deal or No Deal?'

'No Deal.'

'Three more, and every one important.'

'Box 4, the wonderful and lively Bill please.'

Box 4 - £10

Jacqui is delighted - 'Just those pesky pennies to get rid of eh? Eh?'

'Yeah. Eh. Eh. Two to go!'

'Two twos, 22.'

'So Brian, you came along yesterday to replace Ian, enjoying it?'

'Yeah, great atmosphere, but I want to get busy now!'

'Well, now you have a job to do - just open box number 22.' The crowd groan at the rhyme.

Box 22 - 50p

Brian punches the air a bit; Jacqui is more restrained but not much.

'This game is suddenly looking a whole lot better. But it can still go wrong in one box... make sure it's not this one.'

'Abbie, 23.' 'I'm not 23!' jokes Abbie. 'I'm 19!'

'No, Abbie, your BOX is NUMBER 23! OPEN IT!'

Box 23 - £3,000

'Great!' cries Patrick. 'I'm feeling a lot better now,' Jacqui adds. 'I feel a lot more comfortable with the board and believe I can actually fulfil my dreams.'

'Well, we all hope so. But one person is in the business of wrecking dreams... and here he is.'

The phone call is short and to the point. 'Just get on with it.' He does.

'I think I might have worked out how to make him behave.'

'Oh?'

'Tell him to get on with it and he'll throw up something decent. The offer is £25,000!'

'Suddenly, it's getting serious. You have two boxes to open should you go on... and either could wreck your dreams.'

'Oh, absolutely. So the question is whether £25,000 will fulfil them.'

'And that is a question that only you can answer.'

'I agree. But I still think some advice would be useful. Donald?'

'Must admit I feared a lot worse, but there's still more there - we're not even at half the average and there's a 75% chance you will keep £300,000 to the next offer.'

Patrick asks Oliver for advice - 'Oliver, the other Central player here. What do you think she should do?' 'No Deal, but I wouldn't blame her if she ignored me.' 'Do you mean that?' asks Jacqui. 'Yes, I mean that.'

Patrick forces the issue - 'I need your decision.' 'Good job I've made my mind up then isn't it?' replies Jacqui, to laughs.

'£25,000... Deal... or No Deal?'

A slight pause. 'No Deal.'

'OK... two to open... two critical boxes...'

'20 please, Quentin.' Before she can say anything else, Patrick rushes over and snatches Box 20. 'I'LL open this after what you did yesterday, thank you...' Quentin's not having any of it, and forcibly opens the box himself to reveal...

Box 20 - 10p

'Quentin, QUENTIN!' Patrick roars over the noise. 'You have been forgiven!'

'Thank you!' Jacqui calls out. 'Now, one more...'

'One more, and if this is not £300,000 or £75,000, there is only one way the offer can go.'

'21 please, Donald.'

'Our wise old man, Donald... big responsibility...'

'I can cope with it. It's out of my hands, and it's a 71% chance this will be alright.'
