I've got a proposal for a new 'alternate reality' DoND series. Instead of one based in a different parallel world almost, I've thought up the idea of using the real contestants at the same time they really played their games (down to not 'airing' Amanda when the time comes)... but with the twist that the game evolves differently...

Noel remains consistently neutral and doesn't influence the game
The offer patterns evolve more slowly and are slightly less unpredictable, although psychology will still be important
Some twists will not appear, while others may appear in a different form or at different times. There may also be new ones, most likely from other international versions
Contestants' decisions may be different, as the games will be all-new - so Laura might get a strong board and be a targetist, Fin might be the first quarter-millionaire, Lucy might get a board worth waiting 50 shows for...

What do you think? Good idea or no?

This sounds like the best thing ever. Power 5's second chance series was wonderful becuase it as based on real contestants, and I'd have loved it if he'd done one for May 07 contestants onwards (though he'd have to an awful lot of games to cover this year's contestants). :D

Have you ever considered taking up Power 5's unfinished work? ;) I'd love to see it return definitely!

Good idea anyway KP! :D

Yes this sounds like a great idea... always interesting when real ex-contestants are used.

Definitely planning on doing it now - I think I'll start with Terry, the first of the sequence games, but if anyone thinks I should start at the top with Lynn, or anywhere else come to that, let me know...

Ooh there's a point - what if the 1p game had never happened? Would people have acted differently?

I now have two other possible starting points: Irene (first game of 2006) or Angela (first game with a totally different offer pattern!!)

I think Angela would be a good one actually - didn't you reach about that point in another simulation series you did?

Nearly, yes - that being KP's Contestant Challenge...

...I'll start with her :) (and maintaining near enough the same pre-Christmas offer pattern, with a more distinct evolution from Terry's, only without Sequencegate and without the same offer vindictiveness...)

I think this is a great idea KP, and so far the games are really good - I do feel the need to point out that the word is 'alternative', and not 'alternate' though ;)

I think the idea is very good. I've finally found something that can take me right back into the happiest time of my life, early 2006. Well, the whole of 2006 actually.

On a more professional note, I believe the idea will be a success primarily as the format hasn't changed from the "normal" 22-box £250k board, the general layout is the same.

It provides good entertainment - only, from 3 years ago. I've always fantasized about going back and forth in time, and this game format partly brings that to life. Very nice, David. Good luck.
