"Good evening, everyone! Welcome to Alpie's Big Deal!" Host Ruhina is very excited to host another episode, recorded on the same day as the first one. "This is the show where luck and good judgement can lead to a life-changing sum of money - potentially a million zeela!" Obligatory applause. "In fact, we actually came close to giving away that massive jackpot in our very first show last Yotday night, as Nika Donraydra from Sheskel near Vestara was in possession of the most valuable of the 24 boxes..."



"...unfortunately for him, there's no guarantees in this game, except for the offers made by the Banker on the other end of this phone. Nika was more than happy to take one of those, 165,000z - a million it's not, but a big sum it is!" Ruhina then gives a bit of a quick overview of the game, before welcoming the Box Club to another rousing reception.

"Hoping to be even more successful than Nika was last week, it's Kett Pergough from Tenolervu!" There are big cheers from the audience as Kett runs out to the table from backstage.

"Welcome, Kett - bit to live up to, but I'm sure you've got a chance! Tell us a bit about yourself."
"I'm Ketevan Pergough, or Kett for short, and I'm 53 and originally from the Cerani Republic, but nowadays I live in Tenolervu [29 miles/48km SSE of Mondustra] and work as a border patrol officer on the Acallar border. I live with my wife Nadra, we've been married 21 years and we've got five grown-up children that we've adopted, and they're starting to have kids too."

Camera cuts to the Supporters Bench, where we see Nadra along with eldest son Bandar and his pregnant wife Zira.

"We'd love to all live together in one large house on one of the Ildos islands." "We're going to need a lot of money then?" "Don't you know it, Ru!" Laughter.

"Well, as we saw last week, it helps to have the million on the table. It's now time for you to choose one of these 24 boxes to be yours, and hopefully you'll get as lucky as Nika did! What do you fancy?"
"I don't know about fancy, but I think I like the look of number 12!" Ralphie, who at 19 is the same age as Kett's youngest adopted child, brings that box over.

"So now, we open the other boxes one by one - whatever's in those boxes is not in yours - and the Banker will ring for the first time after six boxes have been opened. It's all about to unfold when we come back!"

"Welcome back to Alpie's Big Deal! Kett Pergough is looking to follow in the footsteps of last week's big winner and take home a life-changing sum of money... Take it away, Kett!" The audience applaud as the lights turn light blue and the game begins.

“Let’s start from the beginning – Oli, Box 1 please!”
“Hi Oli!” “Hey Ru!” We see a rare smile from the rough-and-rugged retired rally driver. “Get Kett’s game off to a wonderful start will you please and reveal a low number in that box.”
“Good luck Kett, I think it’s… 30z!”

Box 1 – Oli – 10z

“Even better! That’s what we want to find lots of. Where next?”
“I’ll try Box 17 next.”
“Box 17 with you Ja, can you remember what you had in the last game?” Ja laughs and shrugs. “My memory is terrible Ru, I couldn’t tell you what I had for breakfast!”
“Hopefully you can tell us what’s in the box though, it’s worth two and a half grand for Kett’s charity.”
“Hmm… I’ll say 20,000z.”

Box 17 – Ja – 75z

Kett’s smiling, still very much calm and collected though. “I’m liking this,” says Ru. “Carry on like this and you’ll be in Ildos in no time!”
“Oh Ru if only, if only! Right, next I think we have to go with Calla. We have loved watching Medwin’s Mess in our house, so I hope you can find me another blue!”
“More than happy to hear that Kett! I hope there’s ten thousand in here for you.”

Box 15 – Calla – 1,000,000z

Huge groans around the studio; the audience reacting much worse to the discovery than Kett herself who’s still looking confident. “Unfortunately Kett, that means you won’t be leaving here a millionaire… But there’s plenty more money on that board for you!” There’s an encouraging applause as Kett elects Box 18.
“Risath, we don’t want another incident like that.”
“Don’t you worry my darling, there’s one tiny little zeela in this box Kett!” To some, Risath’s efforts to seem pleasant come across quite creepily.

Box 18 – Risath – 300,000z

Kett takes that hit a bit harder than the previous one. “No no let’s not be doing this! Find the blues, we like those,” cries Ruhina.
“It’s alright, it’s going perfectly fine so far, isn’t it guys?” Kett’s comment kicks up a wave of cheers from the audience. Already, the audience feel like they’re in for a treat after the first game. “Box 4 please Tristan!”
“How are you today Tristan?”
Tristan lets out a sigh. “You know, it’s been a long day Ru! I woke up late, my train here was late, and I’ve just been running around like crazy, I’m just glad I’m sat down!” Juchim, who is sat next to them, laughs. “You get the train?” he asks Tristan jokingly. “How do you even cope? You hate people being too close to you, you weren’t entirely happy sitting this close to me and Flo!” Everybody’s laughing now. “Oh I’ve got that sorted,” claims Tristan, “I have a whole table reserved just for me in first class – it is bliss!”
“Alright, alright you two,” says Ruhina, “you two can carry on your train talk afterwards. For now, Tristan, we need you to get this game back on track for us!”
“Right you are, good luck Kett my lovely, this is going to be 5,000z!”

Box 4 – Tristan – 20z

Finally, we’re cheering again. “One more box before the first phone call, and we’d love to see another blue.”
“Gotta go with Juchim now, Box 5!”
“Best of luck Kett! I’m sure this is blue, I’ll go for 200z.”

Box 5 – Juchim – 200z
** CORRECT GUESS – 2,500z **

“Brilliant stuff Juchim! Already we’ve got a bit of money in your charity pot, but we’ll talk about that later on. Well, what do you make of that Kett?” asks Ruhina, sitting herself down taking a sip from her mug.
“Well of course, it could’ve gone better but it’s far from over! Nad and I came here for a lot of money tonight and we can still do that so, yeah!” That optimism is followed by applause, and the phone begins to ring.

“Hello there Banker… She’s a big dreamer is Kett, I think you have to be worried about here… Alright!” Ruhina hangs up. “He was more concerned about the fact that you had found four blues in that round, he didn’t even mention the fact that you lost the million. As a result, your offer is higher than Nika’s first offer last weekend. 21,000z!”



This opening offer gets a slightly positive reception, moreso than Nika’s first offer. Kett is appreciative of that opening offer, but "like the Banker knows, I'm here for a lot of money tonight so let's say NO DEAL!" More obligatory applause.

“Right okay Kett, we’ve had the first six, and now we need to open five more. Aim for the left hand side of that board.”
“Okay we’ll start with Box 3 and Florence, please.”
“Evening Florence! You don’t mind sitting next to Tristan do you?” says Ruhina, referring to the banter that occurred in the first round.
“You know, I’ve loved sitting next to them, and yet, all this time they’ve wanted to be away from me!” Florence is dramatically and jokingly acting like she’s offended, which garners some laughs from the audience. Tristan gasps, and gives her a cuddle. “Not at all darling, you are wonderful!” There’s a slightly obvious editorial cut back to Ruhina here.
“Right, Florence, we want blues here. Have you got one for us?”
“I don’t think I do, I think it’s quite high… I’ll say 50,000z. Good luck Kett!” Ruhina screws her face up at that prediction.

Box 3 – Florence – 100,000z

It’s even worse than she thought! “In terms of your biggest ambitions Kett, there’s only three truly massive sums of money left in the game. Keep away from those for as long as we can, and we’ll be fine. Next box…”
“Right, blue time. Box 11 please!”
“I hope this is blue for you, my prediction is… 500z.”

Box 11 – Lache – 75,000z

The audience don’t quite know how to react to that. “It’s not awful,” says Ruhina trying to clarify the situation, “but it doesn’t help at all, and it’ll give the Banker confidence. Three left to open in this round, and we need to find blues again!”
“Right okay, I will! Box 14 please.”
“Revazi! Would you be so kind as to punch a blue off that board for us?”
Revazi chuckles at the terrible pun, referring to the website he founded. “Yeah alright I can do that, 30z!”

Box 14 – Revazi – 100z

Enthusiasm is returning to the studio now with that, not much of a reaction from Kett though. “Okay let’s go for Aleos Lewar please, Box 20!”
“Same again please Aleos!”
“I hope it is Kett, 50z I’ll go for.”

Box 20 – Aleos – 50,000z

Groans from the audience this time. Kett pulls a face, before shouting “come on, everyone!” That’s enough to liven everyone up, with Nadra whistling from the Bench.
“One box to go, and please, for Oma’s sake, find a blue!”
Kett nods with a very cool expression; as if she’s ready for anything. “Okay, Box 8 please Mrs. De Fiore.”
“Why thank you Mrs. Pergough,” she says, putting on the typical British accent that travelled all the way to Jannike from Earth. “I wish you all possible success, I’m going to say I have a thousand zeela in this box for you.”

Box 8 – Merla – 1z

Huge cheers, as the lowest-value box disappears off the gameboard. “Perfect way to end the round there, nice job! We did take some big hits there, though…” summarises Ruhina.
“We did, but I’m happy with that, we’re doing good so far!” The audience start cheering again, all rooting for Kett’s success, as the phone rings.

“Hello… Mhm… Hmmmm…” Ruhina hangs up. “You got rid of three big numbers in that round, but he’s concerned about your ambitions, and already you’ve shown him that you’d got the drive to take him for a lot of money if you’re lucky. Thanks to that, and the fact that you found the one zeela at the very end there, he’s now at 29,000z.”



Kett wasn’t expecting that, and neither did the audience who are applauding again. Ruhina attempts to get the family involved as she turns to the Supporters Bench and asks “what do you make of that, Nadra?”
“Yeah it’s a good offer for sure, we’ve got big dreams though so I know what Kett’ll do now.”
“It certainly is a nice sum of money, but there's so much more there for me, and I have a great feeling about today! NO DEAL"

More obligatory applause as Ruhina turns to the camera. “There are thirteen boxes remaining now, three of which contain at least two hundred thousand zeela! Can Kett go on to win one of those massive sums of money? Join us again in a few minutes, don’t go away!”

The camera flies back into the studio from the air to Ruhina at the table with Kett. “Welcome back to part three of tonight’s Alpie’s Big Deal with Ketevan ‘Kett’ Pergough all the way from Tenolervu. We’ve had a rocky start, but there’s still a good chance that Box 12 in front of her could contain a life-changing sum of money!” Applause once again from a very upbeat audience.

“So far, Kett, the celebrities have managed to get 2,500z in tonight’s charity pot. Tell us a little bit about the charity you will donate that to tonight.”
“Back in 385, Nadra and I adopted our second son Rouben aged nine at the time. He was struggling at school because of his learning difficulties, and where he was staying at the time there were no facilities to help him achieve his potential. When we brought him to Tenolervu, he received excellent tuition at the SkyHi institute which is a school who cater for children like Rouben who don’t – well usually, can’t – receive the attention he needs in a standard school. So tonight, I’m donating my charity pot to the SkyHi institute in Tenolervu.” Said with pride and emotion, Kett’s tale results in roars of cheers from the audience and Nadra wiping a tear from her eye.
“That is absolutely wonderful Kett. Hopefully, we can load up that charity pot even more for you as we play round three – and now you have four boxes to open.”

“D.T. please, Box 7.” Kett still appears relatively calm and collected, as she had since the beginning.
“Two and a half grand for the charity pot please D.T.!”
“I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you Kett, I’m guessing 750z.”

Box 7 – D.T. – 30,000z

That one receives some applause from people who know that’s not what Kett came for. “There’s a huge gap now from two hundred thousand to just twenty thousand zeela, but at least the big three are still there.” Ruhina’s looking slightly uncomfortable with that board.
“Can I have Box 23 next?” “You sure can! Dre, another low number please…”
“I hope it is Kett, I think it might be 20,000z though…”

Box 23 – Dre – 5,000z

“This is good Kett, these are the boxes we want right now, now find some blues!" We finally see a look of positivity on Ruhina’s face.
“Box 10, next.”
“This is blue for you Kett, best of luck! One thousand.” Tiluna was so upbeat about that, you’d think we couldn’t expect anything else from the box…

Box 10 – Tiluna – 750z

We start to get a reaction from Kett now, who has made a fist with her hand and a big grin on her face. “We’re really happy with this Kett, and if you can find one more blue now in this final box, we’re going to be in a very strong position against the Banker! Last box will be?”
“16, Dorinda.”
“Dorinda, crucial now that you stay away from those big three numbers. Please do that for us now.”
Dorinda seems mildly alarmed at Ruhina’s sudden hyperactivity. “Alright then, here’s… three hundred!”

Box 16 – Dorinda – 20,000z

“Great!” exclaims Kett, as everyone gets to celebrate a round without any big numbers being revealed. “We got rid of some of those yellows in the corner there, but you’ve got much bigger ambitions than that! You’ve now got a one in three chance of taking home at least 200,000z from your box! That’s awesome!” The audience are even more excitable now, so much so that the sound of the phone ringing has almost been drowned out…

“Hello again… It is, but she’s got guts and a lot of aspirations to fulfil… Right.” Ruhina hangs up. “The Banker’s claiming that you’ve created a very dangerous game. Three boxes must be opened in the next round, and if you find the big three, the most you can leave with would be 10,000z.” Some of the audience start booing at that comment. “This is a good offer though Kett, he sure is taking you seriously. 52,500z!”



Nadra says "it's a lot of money that, but, half a million, 750,000, could we do it? It would get us everything we wanted, and this is such a rare opportunity..." The audience start cheering, and it becomes obvious what answer they want to hear now.
Ruhina reminds Kett that she could take the big three out in the next three boxes.
Kett shakes her head. "I can't - I won't be that unlucky, not tonight. NO DEAL!"

Huge applause from the audience. “On we go, Kett. Each box we open has more and more significance on your outcome, so we have to carry on missing the big numbers. We also want to top up your charity pot, so pull your fingers out, celebrities!”

Yep, a definite No Deal for me here as well. Could be looking at another six figure offer if the Top 3 stay another round.

“We’ll start with Iota please, and Box 13.”
“You know what we need to keep Kett and Nadra’s dreams alive… Open Box 13.”
“I wish you both the very best, I hope I’ve got 30z for you!”

Box 13 – Iota – 750,000z

Iota looks genuinely distraught having done that. Kett’s no longer smiling, but the groans and subsequent silence are broken by Bandar shouting “it’s alright mum, come on!” An encouraging applause ensues. Ruhina adds to the enthusiasm and says “there’s still two huge amounts left on the board! We just need to miss them for a while… Where are we going next?”
“Hmm… How about 19, Carson, do you think you’ve got a blue for me?”
“I sure do Kett, I think I’ve got 300z,” boasts Carson, displaying that casual, cool look he pulls off so well.
“Yeah we’ll open 19.” Kett seems to have been affected by Carson’s positivity.
“I hope you’re right Carson, open 19…”

Box 19 – Carson – 300z
** CORRECT GUESS – 2,500z **

Kett appears to be so relieved with that reveal. “Five grand now in the charity pot for the SkiHi institute” cries Ruhina, continuing to escalate the energy in the room. “One more box, come on, let’s do this Kett!”
“Box 2!”
“Florence, we want – no, we need – ten thousand zeela, or a blue. Open 2.”
“All the best to you both, I hope this is a thousand.” Florence crosses both of her fingers in the air before opening the box.

Box 2 – Florence – 50z

Nadra leaps out of her seat and runs over to give a very excitable Kett a big hug. “We’re alright!” she shouts.
“We are there indeed,” says Ruhina, in a calmer voice in an attempt to ready Kett for the next offer. “We did lose the biggest number, but we found two blues, and there’s still a one in three shot of you leaving with 200,000z! This, should be an interesting phone call now…” and the phone’s ringing.

A stick would be a toughie here..........

“Hello… I think we’d have to concede that… I can tell she’s still got a lot of energy, she did find the big one but she’s still determined…” Ruhina hangs up. “I’m not quite sure what you’re going to make of this offer… 49,000z.”




Kett looks slightly deflated, and glances over at her wife. "How are you feeling, Nad?"
"It would be a shame if it didn't go your way... but I can't help thinking how good it would be if you had one of those two big sums of money in your box!" Nadra’s excitement is being concealed somewhat by a facial expression of concern. Bandar speaks up for the first time. “49,000z could still go a long way for you mum, and it’s much nicer than even 10,000z… I’m behind you whatever you decide to do.”
“A lot of people would love 49,000z right now,” points out Ruhina, in an aid to bring Kett’s sights back into reality. “You know how it feels to hit a big number after a big decision, can you go through that again? If you can, you could be on for a huge reward if you’re lucky enough. Remember, there’s two boxes to open in the next round…”
Kett stands up, as if she’s to announce something. "I know I just hit a big number but I still feel really positive that I've got a huge amount of money in my box... I'm going to have to say NO DEAL!"

There’s a massive uproar from the audience, and loads of cheers. “I hope that’s one of the best decisions you’ve ever made Kett… We have two very important boxes to open… coming right after this break! Don’t go away!”

............. but instead we get a trap offer.

I'd go on here as there's only a 1 in 15 chance of destroying the game in the next round.

“Welcome back to the final part of Alpie’s Big Deal tonight! Kett has just refused an offer of 49,000z for the chance to possibly leave here with a massive half a million zeela!” Obligatory uproar from the audience. “It certainly hasn’t been an easy ride to get to this point, we’ve had some big hits, but if she can keep both those big numbers in play…” as the camera cuts from Ruhina to the gameboard, “… she’s going to get some huge cash offers from the Banker… You have to open two boxes now Kett. Best of luck, here we go…”
“Can I go with Meffy, Box 9 please? I think they may have a blue for me.”
“A blue would be wonderful Meffy, please open Box 9…”
Meffy takes a big breath. “You and your family deserve the very best tonight, I hope I have 500z in here for you!”

Box 9 – Meffy – 1,000z

“Yes!” whispers Kett as she places her hands behind her head and looks up at the ceiling. “Come on!” shouts an incredibly excitable Bandar, while Zira joins in the cheering of the audience. Nadra looks as if she’s praying now sat on the Bench. “One more box Kett, one box away from a wonderful board. Just stay away from those big two…”
Kett intensely scans the boxes for a few seconds. “I want 24. Daniel Nyssam. Please be good…”
“We can see how much this means to her Daniel, please don’t let us down. 30z, 500z or 10,000z. It doesn’t really matter which now. Please open Box 24…”
“I really, really hope I’ve got ten thousand here for you…” Daniel, who’s evidently engrossed on an emotional level, hesitates somewhat to open the box for a moment, and then eventually, he does.

Box 24 – Daniel – 500,000z

There’s a huge groan from the audience, and one or two audible screams even. Kett is noticeably distraught having seen that, and runs her hands through her hair. The groans are followed by a few seconds of deafening silence, before Nadra begins a studio-wide applause, along with cries of encouragement. Ruhina sighs and looks over at Kett. “This game is now teetering on a knife edge. You’re absolutely determined to leave here with a huge prize, but you’re going to have to make some very brave decisions to get there…” The phone rings.

“Hello… I bet you are… I think you have to brace yourself for that happening, she has a fantastic belief in herself and her luck… Okay.” Ruhina hangs up. “He’s relieved to say the least, but you can still take away more than Nika did in the previous game, and that was a large enough pay out for him as it was! For that box, to not go on and open one more box in the next round, he will give you 27,000z.”



There’s a mix of groans and some claps from the audience. There’s almost no reaction Kett at the table though. She tilts her head whilst looking at the gameboard. "You know, I've never been flippant with money... but I did come here to reach for that big money! I think I have to try and get that 200,000z unless the Banker can give me a huge sum of money not to do so!" Nadra can be seen nodding in the background whereas Bandar and Zira look more nervous. “It’s going to have to be a NO DEAL!”

The applause is more hesitant, but a couple of seconds later the enthusiasm returns. “You can do this mum, come on!” shouts Bandar, still looking quite nervous. Nadra seems like the calmest of the people in the centre of the studio right now. “We’ve been on a downwards slope with these last few offers Kett,” says Ruhina, “but this box could be worth tens of thousands of zeela to you if you get it right!”

I have no clue what I would've done there. I probably would've asked the Banker what the pffer would be if I found a low amount to help make up my mind.

“There’s three boxes left out with the Box Club, Kett, if you find it… It’s game over in terms of the mega money. If you miss it, the offer will be a lot more than 27,000z…”
“I’m going to go for Donita Rogot, please, number 21.”
There’s a pause. “You don’t need me to tell you the importance of this box, Donita… Get us to the next phone call with the two hundred thousand still undiscovered. Thank you.”
“I so hope this is a good box for you, Kett and Nadra, you’re wonderful and such an inspiration having raised five children. You deserve to leave here with that two hundred thousand! I’m going to guess 30z for you both because you deserve the very best!”

Box 21 – Donita – 200,000z

Kett releases a huge sigh amidst a huge cry of sympathy from the audience, though she seems somewhat content and manages to make some sort of a smile as she glances over at Nadra, displaying a similar expression. Bandar and Zira appear to be more upset by that, though. “I’m fine,” exclaims Kett, “it’s just the way it is!” There’s a sympathetic applause and a half-smile from Ruhina as the phone rings.

OH DEAR..............OH DEAR..............OH DEAR..............

“Hello… I’m sure it does… Hm.” Ruhina hangs up and shakes her said. “All he said before he gave me the offer was, ‘well that feels better.’” There’s a huge bout of booing from the audience. “He’ll buy the box off you now for 2,700z.”



"I see what he did there! I think I'm happy to play on though - NO DEAL!" Applause.
Ruhina asks Kett if she regrets turning down over 50,000z, to which Kett says "not at all. Don't get me wrong, that would have been a lovely sum of money to take home, but it is what it is, and I was always going to play for a huge prize tonight!"
