I've never had a proper go at UK DOND before, so here's my shot with a modified DD board. The plot will foollow redrum's story/script switch style.

Aaron: 22 sealed boxes… 22 sums of money, some of which contain life-changing amounts of money. Welcome to my edition of Deal or No Deal!

The rolling titles play as in Series 1 and 2. When it reaches the logo, “AARON’S VERSION” is stamped underneath it.

Aaron: Hello west wing, welcome to our east wing, welcome to our audience and you at home. Welcome to Deal or No Deal on this Monday evening. This show is about making decisions, which could change your car, change your life or just change your socks, and maybe, change your view on life. There are many different aspects to the game, and different sums of money to play for. Come over here to the board, let’s show you our prizes.

Aaron begins by showing us the blue side showing the full blue side with values ranging from 1p to £1,500. He then shows us 7 lower red values as of follows: £3,000; £5,000; £10,000; £15,000; £25,000; £50,000 and £75,000.

Aaron: But these four down here can seriously make a huge difference in your life… We have £100,000 on the board… *applause* we also have an even bigger £150,000 amount to play for… *louder applause* yet, we can top that and put £250,000 – A QUARTER OF A MILLION POUNDS on the board!

Everyone is applauding.

Aaron: But what are we putting in as our top prize? In this game, these contestants will be playing for a massive half a million pounds.

Everyone cheers, and looks at the full board.

Image

Aaron: But each day, only one of our contestants can play for it.

Aaron: So who is it going to be tonight? Let’s find out… Tonight’s contestant is… THEODORE!

Theodore looks in a stir of shock and happiness as Serenity and Natalie hug him. He walks down the walk of wealth with his Box 21.
Theodore is 64, from West Sussex. He has a wife, Nancy, 3 children – 2 boys and one girl, and he has 9 grandchildren. His retirement comes in august so he wants to get more money tucked away, and some money to spend time with his grandchildren.

Aaron: That’s great, is there anything else you’d spend it on?
Theodore: Oh yes, me and Nancy would like a luxury cruise of the Caribbean…
Aaron: I reckon the really big sums of money on that board could probably do everything!
Theodore: They certainly could!

Aaron goes on to ask Theodore to confirm his box was chosen randomly, and was sealed by an Independent Adjudicator who loads the other boxes and watches the game to see if everything goes to plan.

Aaron: Ready to start?
Theodore: Indeed I am!

Applause and Theodore starts scanning the boxes.

Theodore: I’d like to open box 13 first…
Aaron: Ellena, you’re first in turn to open the game, the person to kick start our series. Open box 13, low amount, left side please…
Ellena: Fingers crossed.

£100

Applause and Theodore smiles.
Aaron: Great! That now means that £100 isn’t in your box 21…
Theodore: And a possible half a million… *more applause* Yasmine, box number 7 please.
Aaron: Yasmine, more of the same please.
Yasmine: I sincerely hope so! Here goes.

£50

Aaron: Even better!
The applause goes on as Yasmine peeps over the lid to see the value.
Aaron: 3 to go and if we can start with 3 more blues, that’d be fantastic.
Theodore: Box number 9, Lillian.
Lillian: Best of luck Theodore.

£1,500

Lillian: YES!
Audience suddenly laugh.
Aaron: Don’t laugh; she’s just getting too involved with the game! Mind you, in this scenario, we can get some really meaty offers from the banker.
Theodore: Francesca, could you open 17 please?
Francesca: I surely can, I really hope this is another blue, that penny!

£500,000

Audience groan, camera immediately turns to Lillian to see her reaction.
Aaron: Erm… quite the opposite.
Theodore: Oh well, never mind, there’s a lot more left on the board!
Aaron: Indeed. *applause from audience* one box to go…
Theodore: Hmm… Box 16, Natalie please.
Aaron: Last box, the offer’s coming… We want another low blue.
Natalie: Let’s hope so, good luck.

£1

Theodore: Thank you very much!
Aaron: Okay then! That opening was looking very good, but then we stripped the half a million off the board.

Image

The phone rings and the conversation is mainly about losing the half a million. Theodore looks relaxed and smiles at Nancy in the audience. Aaron puts the phone down.

Aaron: The banker’s first offer to buy Box 21 off you, which could contain £250,000… or maybe just 1p, £8,800.

Image

Theodore: That is a nice sum of money, but I’m not prepared to take such money when I could be winning hundreds of thousands, and I’ve 3 out of the 17 boxes left with 6 figures in it, so I’m ready for the question.
Aaron: Okay, £8,800 Deal or No Deal?
Theodore: That would be a No Deal.

Applause

Aaron: If we can keep the really big money, you’ll be seeing a lot more than £8,800.
Theodore: Indeed I will…
Aaron: 3 boxes to open in this round.
Theodore: Beginning with box number 22.
Aaron: Kerri, open box 22 please.
Kerri tries removing the seal.

£10

Theodore: Thank you very much Kerri.
The applause goes on, and Kerri simply smiles back.
Aaron: I suggest 2 more like that.
Theodore: Touché. Box number 20, Jordan please.
Aaron: Our first male person to open a box. You’ve picked 6 women in a row!
Theodore: Oh did I? I didn’t realise! *laughter*
Aaron: Not as if there’s anything wrong with that. Jordan, open box 20 and reveal the penny.
Jordan: Let’s do it.
Jordan whips the seal off and opens it really fast.

£1,000

Audience applaud
Aaron: It’s not a test of agility!
The audience laugh, Jordan chuckles a little and puts the box away.

Aaron: One to go, then we get the offer…
Theodore: 14 please, Serenity.
Aaron: Serenity, what a beautiful name…
Serenity: Thank you.
Aaron: Follow suit and make it the same inside that box. Reveal a blue or £3,000 please.
Serenity: I sincerely hope so… best of luck.

£100,000

Aaron: Aww… one hundred thousand pounds is off the board. You don’t have a hundred thousand in box 21, and a 1 in 7chance of it holding at least £150,000.

Image

Applause is heard as the banker rings. It isn’t much of a conversation, but it looks as if it’s going to be a respectful offer. Aaron hangs up.

Aaron: The hundred thousand was a big hit, but he’s saying that you’ve got a very strong stack of reds, and those big whoppers on the board. He simply has to go up, and the second offer is £14,300!

Image

Everyone applauds the offer.
Theodore: That is a better offer, and that would be nice to take away, but there’s so much more play in the board, there’s a lot, LOT more money on the board! *applause* I’m ready for the question.
Aaron: At £14,300 Theodore, Deal or No Deal?
Theodore: No Deal.

More applause from everyone; Nancy nods in agreement to his decision.

Aaron: Another 3, it’d be great to hit some more low numbers.
Theodore: Box number 5.
Aaron: Our Spanish import, hello Armando.
Armando: Hello Aaron.
Armando has a very strong Spanish accent.
Aaron: A low blue, or a very low value red number please.
Armando: Best of luck.

£5

Aaron: Oh wow!
Theodore walks over to Armando and shakes his hand and saying, “Thank you” in the process.
Theodore: Phew…
Aaron: Your first sign of emotion there, but there’s 2 left to open…
Theodore: There is, there is… box 10.
David: I really hope the luck continues…

*seal off*

£500

Theodore is off to thank David as numerous wing members are staring at the board.
Aaron: Erm… one to go…
Theodore: *sigh* 19…
Aaron: Lakisha… final box, the offers coming, that offer is now dependent upon the value of box 19. Remove the sealant.

*rips seal off*

Aaron: Lakisha, open it…

Lakisha: Best of luck…

£5,000

Aaron: That’s fine! That’s totally fine!
Everyone is cheering, and people are mow glaring at the board, with just 3 blues and 8 reds.

Image

The phone rings, and Aaron chuckles as he picks it up. A stern look comes upon Aaron’s face toward the end of the conversation, and then he puts the phone down. Aaron walks to the walk of wealth.

Aaron: You always know that it’s good to have a lot of reds left… but this is amazing, truly amazing… Theodore. Your last offer was just over £14,000… Theodore……………… Thirty grand.

Image

Theodore: Oh wow!
Theodore claps along with the applause.
Nancy: Think about it now Theo…
Theodore: … And think about it I shall.
Aaron: With 8 reds up there, can you walk away from £30,000?
Jordan: Theo.
Theodore peers over to Jordan.
Jordan: The worst possible round next would be the 250, the 150 and the 75. You could still get £50,000 out of the game.
Malvina: But then you’re chasing back the money he’s offered. £30,000 is guaranteed. You have less than a 1 in 5 chance of winning 5 times more.
Aaron: On that basis, it is a very clever offer.
Theodore stares at the board before looking down at his family photo. He sighs and asks for the question.
Aaron: Theodore… Thirty thousand pounds… Deal, or No Deal?
Theodore: That’s great it really is… *faces Nancy who stares back* No Deal.

Everyone applauds him and Theodore breathes a huge sigh of relief.

Aaron: Right then another 3…
Theodore: Here we go then… box 1.
Aaron: Florence, please… not too big.
Florence: I really hope this works out…

£25,000

Aaron: Hmm…
Theodore: Okay, that’s fine…
The audience then applaud him in confusion.
Aaron: Just no bigger, and that £30,000 will be nothing compared to what the next offer would be.
Theodore: Number 3, Jack…
Jack: Good luck Theo…
Aaron: Remove the sealant…

Jack rips off the seal.
Aaron: … lift it.

1p

Everyone goes crazy, and Theodore jumps in the air in excitement, and runs to thank Jack.
Aaron: Stunning…
Theodore: Why don’t you try playing a game like this, it’s bloody hard!
Everyone laughs and Aaron nods in agreement.
Theodore: I’d like to finish with box 11…
Aaron: You have a total of £553,002.25 on the board… Don’t take too much off it with this box. Go on Stanley, remove the sealant.

*rips off seal*

Aaron: Stanley… lift it.

A few more camera shots of Theodore, Nancy and some wing members.

Stanley: Best of luck…

£75,000

Groans. Theodore smiles a little, and says it could have been a lot worse, and everyone nods in agreement leading to applause. The remaining values on the board scroll down to the bottom.

Image

The phone rings and Aaron answers it. “Hello…” there is absolutely no word from Aaron in the conversation after that, then he puts the phone down. Aaron stares at the board.

Aaron: Over £475,000 remains on that board… I’d have expected more than this to be honest… £36,500.

Image

Theodore shakes his head, then looks down at his family photo.
Theodore: Oh dear, what a quandary.
Aaron: I can’t help you… I can only just give you stats.
Cody: It could go either way, just think of if you could take the risk.
Greg: Would you be happy turning that down and hitting those big 3? Would you be alright with that?
Theodore nods his head, and another little pause.
Theodore: Upon that basis, and my gut feeling, I’m ready for the question…

Audience ooh and look nervous for him.

Aaron: Theodore… £36,500… is it a Deal or No Deal?
Theodore shuts his eyes and opens them up again.

Theodore: Sorry darling, No Deal.

Everyone screams and everyone is behind him.

Aaron: We’ve got to get through another three…
Theodore: Oh dear… number 4.
Aaron sighs and shrugs his shoulders. “Daisy, 25p, £2 or £3,000… please.”

25p

Theodore: YES! THANK YOU!
He runs over to hug Daisy and everyone cheers.
Aaron: 2 to go…
Theodore: Fifteen…
Aaron: Phillip… £2, £3,000 or £10,000. Even £15,000 would be alright… open it.

£15,000

Aaron: Yes, fine!
Theodore: COME ON!
Everyone cheers louder and louder. Theodore sits down and prays,
Aaron: One to go…
Theodore: Twelve…
Aaron: Greg this is it… not the 50, not the 150, not the 250 and this next offer will be in the life-changing territory remove the sealant…

*seal ripped off*

“Lift it.”

£150,000

Everyone groans. Theodore looks disappointed.

Image

Aaron picks up the phone. Aaron seems shocked at the offer and he hangs up… He tries putting a stern face on while walking down the walk of wealth. He talks to the camera quietly.
Aaron: The mood in here is so low just now… watch this!
Aaron swings around.
Aaron: FIFTY THOUSAND!

Image

Everyone gasps and cheers. A few people shout, “WHOA”
Theodore: Oh what?! Oh my, wow, that is just, fabulous… Erm…
Theodore sheds a tear, and everyone cheers for him and everyone screams. Theodore asks for the question.
Aaron: £50,000 Deal or No Deal?
Theodore: Deal!

Image

Everyone cheers, and Nancy comes down and she hugs Theodore and they look really happy. It takes about 15 seconds to die down.
Aaron: I take it that £50,000 will make a difference?
Theodore: A massive difference, thank you very much.
Everyone applauses.
Aaron: We go on… 3 boxes to go, lets see where this would’ve gone.

Theodore: I’d have gone for box 2.
Aaron: Scott open 2 and reveal a quarter of a million pounds please.
Scott: Well done!

£250,000!

Theodore jumps up and runs over to Scott and gives him a big hug. Nancy and Aaron laugh over the roar of applause.
Aaron: You didn’t have £250,000 here! Now let’s find the 50…
Theodore: Box 6.
Aaron: Malvina, let’s see it.
Malvina: I thought I had a big number here, let’s prove it.

£10,000

Some claps
Aaron: No, it’s £10,000.
Theodore: and 8.
Robert: Good luck.

£2

Aaron: Ah… no.
The last 2 boxes go to the bottom side by side.

Image

The phone rings. “The offer would’ve been? £22,900!” Aaron hangs up.

Aaron: So far you’ve made a good deal. But could you also have won £50,000 by winning it from your box?

£3,000

Aaron: No, you couldn’t!
Everyone applauds him.
Theodore: Wow…
Aaron: It’s been great, Theodore, it’s great to say that you take home £50,000!
Everyone cheers him and Theodore bows to them
Aaron: Let’s clarify that Cody’s box 18 does contain the amount you dealt for. Open it
Cody removes the seal and reveals £50,000.
Aaron: There it was. Well, Theodore, enjoy your future, and enjoy £50,000!

Everyone applauds, and the wings come up to celebrate.

Aaron: And how about that?! Our first contestant takes home £50,000 and that really will change the rest of his life. Will that apply for tomorrow’s player? Join us next time, goodbye!

What do you think? I want to know whether it's worth continuing it. If so, I can record another 30-40 odd shows, but if not, I'll discontinue it.

Worth doing some more I'd say, certainly a few more at the least! Great OPW too, I may have gone a round or two earlier but doubt it, and £50,000 was definitely a Deal. Smartly played!

Yeah, I say carry on

That was a good game, I would've dealt at the 5th offer too

A little bump. I've done five more episodes, counting as one week, and I could do another week when I have time.

I'd have to disagree with the majority here, but only on grounds that I generally don't like modified gameboards. Despite the fact I have 35 of them on my other computer.

Still, good game and £50,000 on game 1! Well he does have a bit of cash to spend in the next 20 or so years doesn't he? Welldone Theodore on £50,000. Blimey, £50k...hell of a lot and if only it was real :-D

Plus your scripts are always so bloody long Aaron I fall asleep halfway through. But thats only because I have less patience than I thought. My verdict: Good series, but I don't think it'll last over 50 games.

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

lol bumping an over 17 year thread

Would've dealt £36,500 personally as I play relatively cautiously on the first game of a series as, in The Chase lingo terms, you don't know what form the Banker is on. ;)

I think some of this might have been an attempt at humour... :ponder:

I'm impressed that the images are still here, though! I'd have thought they would have disappeared many moons ago...
