Shame it wasn't the penny in her box, but well done Violet, great character and the result we needed after this week!

And it seems the only way to avoid taking out the £100,000 early on is to actually have it in your box!

Violet was a real character! :D

A good result to make up for disappointing recent games.

that was an interesting one. I thought the offer at 5 box was a bit low but dealing there was justifiable. At least she didn't deal at 8 box and got a decent sum of money.

i don't know what I'd have done at all as i would have expected a 40K offer for 5 box.

Oh dear. Another player who blew the chance at having £100,000!

At the 5 box offer Noel asked Violet to think about the odds of taking out the £100,000 and the £250,000. In yesterday's game the top two were taken out in the sixth round to leave a peanuts result. The odds of that happening are 30% so it does take some courage to no deal when there are 3 blues left.

Violet is a legend.

What a quality game. That's easily the biggest transformation in character from the wings to the crazy chair.

I had a feeling one of the big two was in her box but I still think I'd have dealt at £28,500 too. The risk was too high.

Well done Violet!

what a power house Violet proved to be Billy and I thought she would be one to watch along with Brian and Frazer, just the way they came over on the day, (no offence to anyone else currently on ) loved the boom boom bit reminded me of Basil Brush (not violet the boom boom bit) loved her courage chuffed with her result. As we say in Cornwall well done me andsome

Aww, if she'd had the 1p that would have been the best game ever...it was still pretty awesome though. The offers were *beep* but I certainly don't blame Violet for dealing; I'd have gone even sooner. What a legend!

But she wouldn't have won it anyway! 1p vs £100,000 final two.....only the hardened "I don't give a damn about the money" players would have gambled at that if they'd have no dealt what Violet won.

That or maybe those who would have seen it as risking £22,499.99 for a 50% shot at another £77,500, and been unable to risk that gamble - I think Aaron would count in that category!

I'd have got £22,500 out of that game. Very interesting one and finally someone makes the right decision at eight-box on a top-two/rubbish board (albeit one with The Rock still there).

Violet was a lively old bird, didn't overdo the 'boom boom' to annoyance and just kept on the right side of the irritating/entertaining borderline.

I'll never understand how anyone can deal with £250k and £100k still in play at 5 box but having seen the dithering at the £18500 offer (thankfully her husband talked good sense) I knew she'd grab any paltry offering going. And it was paltry for the board in my opinion.

And at 2 box, if she had gone on, the banker had it made because even with £100k on the board nobody would no-deal with the 1p staring them in the face. Except me. It would be a matter of how low an offer he thinks he can get away with.

The fact that there was £100k in her box is neither her nor there as there was no way in a million years she would have gone for it.

Just a shame Mac didn't have that board yesterday.
