Personally, I still think Trevor's 1p game was the most tragic, but this was unfortunate to say the least. Fad had a knack of taking out a big number in each round, and in the end this forced his hand with low offers throughout.

His peak offer was actually less than Nick or Trevor ever got I believe, despite him having a big amount left until the end. I don't think any of them saw a 5-figure offer during their game.

One day someone's going to gamble with 1p and £250k left at the end!

I think your right, someone will. i think that was a massive gamble fadil did, i wander whether he thought 7k wasnt gonna make much difference to his life, so might as well go for it.

Fadil is a Diamond Geezer and I only wish he had won more money.
It was a pleasure to arrive with him in our group of 6 and we became very close over the time we were there, his lovely wife Una and girls were so precious to him. He genuinely was a happy guy and I am sure he will do well in life, he is so positive.

Julia, me and the others were all crying when he had the 1p in his box, of all the people we wanted him to do so well in his game. I spoke to him today on the phone and he is really happy - still waiting for his cheque though!

Awwwwwwwwwwww- what a game! It was a horrible result though; I was praying for 35k to be in Fadil's box, but it wasn't to be. He was a great character and I so wanted him to do well. :(

Nick and Trevor will have to move from their cosy table for two now at the 1p Club AGM!

:D

Trevor WOULD have been left with those had he opened the other box left at the end (like if Fadil had opened 14 he would have had 1p and 10p [predicted offer : 4p])

Don't think Trevor would have no-dealt it though, whatever the offer! The standard one would be about £75,000 with that last two, but a lot of people would walk for less than half that if the Banker decided to be really mean.

What I meant to actually say was that Fadil had a much greater chance when it came down to the final two.

Trevor's highest offer was £9,900 at which point the 250k was still in play....
And Trevor in the final two only had £250 and the 1p, similar to Nick who had either £100 or a penny.

Fadil stood the chance to win £35,000, had he swapped ofcourse he wouldn't have joined Nick and Trevor in the club.

In terms then, Fadil had as much a tragic game as he had a 50/50 chance of winning £35,000 but ofcourse lost £34,999.

The last box Trevor chose was the 250k box, had he gone for box 21 then that would have been 1p and £250,000 as the last two - would have been interesting to have heard the bankers offer.

We can all say what if though...

What if Trevor had gone for 21 over 1?
What if Kirsty had swapped her box?

his wife was very philosophical at the end, and it was great how they were both still happy despite the loss...made me feel he deserved the £35k even more... :(

I don't understand why people have a system though. It's just choosing a number and opening the box. There's no skill involved.

Pity he only got 1p though. :(

the only system you need is the law of averages and how likely you are to hit a red instead of a blue,,, or when you have the power five opposed to other numbers... sounds a good game,, and like maxines game yesterday she was lucky and got 10k he was unlucky and got 35k,, in some cases it is a case of greed, and you should sometimes chicken out and take some of the offers...

as you went to the show with nothing, and so always a winner ,, how can you lose and take 6k away...

I think I would have carried on in his situation. £7k isn't lifechanging but £35k would do an awful lot.

As you rightly say, I think it depends on how much the amount you have been offered means to you. Clearly Fadil came to 'play the game', and although it didn't quite come off, he appreciated how fortunate he was to haven been given the opportunity in the first place. I certainly admired that quality in the way he played.
