What I thought was scandalous was the £4,500 offer with £75k still on the board - she deserved her courage to be rewarded for turning down the £16,500 with at least a decent get-out figure in the region of 10k or so! I'm really pleased that the 50p club wasn't founded like that though. At least it was sort of a funny game like Dennis's! E10 seems to be a horribly unlucky position, even for the women! I did really admire her for how well she took it though - while she was clearly bothered about it, she kept a lid on it very well, many others wouldn't have done!

14th June is the worst day ever in DOND - £15.50 paid out in 3 games. :(

It must be horrible destroying the whole game by revealing the last big number.

I think if I went on, I'd always want to be picked early or after the player had dealt, or kept to the very end - I doubt I could take the stress of being picked at a moment where the whole game is dependent on one box!

At last somebody who said they were there to play the game - and did!

The £16,500 offer was a tester and provided an ideal opportunity for the 'dealer' to duck out but with the £75k and £250k and plenty of blues to aim at it was well worth a punt for the gambler.

The message on the card from the kids summed up my feelings about outside interference. 'To Mum, Good luck, keep calm and play your game and no-one elses'. She did.

Unfortunately it all unravelled for this brave lady. But she took the knock with cool dignity and no histrionics and gets my full respect for that.

On a different day she would have walked away with a fortune. Alas today was not her day.

The game is to get as much money as you can without taking unnecessary risk. A 2 box-game at 8 box is too risky because you have 3 scenarios

a) Leave both big boxes in play - approx 36% chance of an offer in the region of £30-40K

b) Take out one of the big boxes - approx 54% chance of an offer around what she got if you leave the £75K and probably around £15K with the £250K in play

c) Take out both boxes - approx 11% chance of disaster.

The offer of £16,500 is not far off on average what you'd expect the 5 box offer to be if you played the board over and over.

Hmm - my rationale for the no-deal was that I would think you'd get offered arounf double what Pippa did at 5-box with 75k and nothing, and around 20-25k or so if she left the 250k without the 75k. Maybe it's taking me too long to catch up with June 07 banker where he doesn't offer 80-90% of the mean on a one box game - my brain is still in Feb/March! :)

That was a horrible game for Pippa but she took it very well and at least she has company in the 50p club - that offer at 5-box stage was derisory and should've been more, and I can't really blame her for no-dealing the £16,500 at the fourth offer as it was a very tricky call.

Well done Pippa for keeping it together despite winning only 50p!

I think it's fair to say that the women in that position really are cursed.

That was a shame as i hoped noone would ever join the Dennis club again.

I might have dealt £16,500 because the board looked dangerous but I don't blame her for going on. The offer at 5 box should have been 7/8K.
