Yay Lynne :D Her hair is awesome. Glad it's her game today, 'cause apparently she didn't have a copy of her game with subtitles, and her mother is deaf, so she'll finally get a chance to enjoy her daughter's game properly :D

Noel: "There has already been a theme established in the offers"
Lynne: "Oh yes, 111, 111... a million?"
Noel: "One hundred and eleven thousand one hundred and eleven... it ain't! I'll let you figure out the rest."

That bit was great :D

Ok, so I went mental with pictures.

Lynne's West Wing:

Lynne's East Wing:

Wrighty, Gary, Karen and Claudine:

The first appearance of the famous 'Blonde Trio', who had their own fanclub:

Lynne herself:

And this one could go in the Comedy Pictures thread, really, with a line like "Celebration across the studio as Noel's 'Disappearing Box' trick finally works":

God, I loved that game!! The subtitle trick didn't work this week, though, the original voiceover was by Ian. Amazing how Lynne was the joint fourth biggest winner ever then, and now she's the joint seventh!

Joint eighth in fact! At the time she was behind only Jennifer, Gaz and Lance - since then we've had Claudine, Laura, Bunney and Graeme.

Lynne and Claudine are up there at the top when it comes to the bravest players of all time!

Very true Davey I cringe when I keep hearing people call Laura the most courageous.

Couldn't agree more. Fabulous game.

Lynne's game was the first one I ever watched and is responsible for getting me hooked on the show. I've just watched it again ( I needed a pick-me-up after Sarah's dross yesterday) and her bravery and the fact that she didn't take herself or the game too seriously have stayed in my mind ever since.

I loved the bit at 2 box where she did a sweep. She didnt want them to say deal or no deal but to say if they thought she had the guts to carry on. They all said yes - they knew she did lol.

Of course back then I thought all players would be like Lynne! Didn't take long for me to discover otherwise.

She WAS courageous, just not as courageous as Claudine or Lynne - although Laura had far more money at risk, her risky decision (£45,000 DOND?) didn't have as small a sum of money left in the game as Lynne or Claudine did. Lynne had 10p, and the offer at the final five stage for Claudine didn't have small blues left, but was still just as dangerous. It was then that her game could very easily have gone wrong, but it didn't!

THAT is called courage! Lynne's reward was £75,000 and Claudine's was £107,031! Laura got the biggy but wasn't ever faced with the possibility of going home with a blue sum of money!

For the record, Fadil was also very courageous, but more reckless in my opinion! He almost WANTED to destroy his own game!

Fadil's offer was much worse than Claudine's or Lynne's though! (It was slightly better than Laura's in terms of the mean but hers was a much more significant sum of money.) I think he may well have been reckless anyway if given the chance, but he certainly wasn't in the game we saw...I'm by no means a gambler and I'd have won 1p in his game too, whereas there's no way I'd have gone to the end in Claudine's, Laura's or Lynne's games.

Fadil's gambling streak is pretty darned hard to measure really! (I reckon he'd probably have been a risk-taker with some kind of common sense - perhaps in the mould of Stephen, or Power5 here.) He wasn't one to be thrown by psychological offers, or very low ones relative to the mean... but I'm not convinced he was an 'I'm here to play the game ignoring the first half of its name' type. He just looked it because of his furious reaction to the last two offers.

Thanh also took a similar gamble £20,000 on £750 vs £75,000 but this is forgotten because it didn't pay off.

If I'd had Fadil's game, I'd definitely been more annoyed if I'd taken £7.2k and had £35k in the box instead of turning it down and winning 1p. And also I would't have even considered swapping in a million years on that pair, even though I loathe Box 6!

Very, very good point. Only the winners ever get remembered. This is probably part of the fuel for Noel's 'courage' soliloquies - the desire to produce the big finish and games to be remembered... except they won't be remembered if they go wrong anyway so that's not a problem... :?

I remember another girl taking a similar gamble, it must have been about a year or so ago. I think her name was Simone and she had £75k and £1 left but she lost. Also don't forget Hillary who gambled £5 and £50k and won.
