Once again, the sight of the £250k has made the player think "I'll go on" - when it could easily be knocked out in the next round! And look what happened - another blue win as a result of turning down a good offer on an unstable board.

Thats as maybe - but I'm sure he knew the risk. I would have carried on and done the same but as long as I know the risk I can live with the consequences.

He seemed fairly relaxed about it in the end and didn't shed any tears. He's going home no worse off than when he came.

A few days ago, I was criticised for saying "well done" to someone who had dealt too early... and now you're saying "well done" to someone who has won £250 in terms of gameplay! :?

My definition of playing the game to the full is getting the most money out of the game...

Wow, congratulations everyone, you've just made a thread that sums up why I don't like the current state of the forum...

I remember jokingly asking back in March if there'd ever be a game where everyone wore a hat, little did I know that one was coming soon! This has been a pretty unfortunate week in that all my favourites are playing, which is good cus they're great but bad in that they'll be gone from now on. Couldn't believe he No Dealt £22,500 on a board like Laura's, as the Banker said on another day this would have been a huge-winning game, but the luck wasn't on his side today. I'm glad that at least there was a bit of a happy end with the £250 going to charity (£5 would have sucked a bit) and then it being doubled to £500, a really nice touch at the end! Well done on an enjoyable game, Savvas, it won't be the same without Mr Hat on the wings!

Sorry, but I don't see why I should remain quiet when I get criticised for saying "well done" to a player who dealt too early and then those people say "well done" to someone who cocked their game up.

Anyway, isn't the idea of a forum to discuss things?

You see, I define 'cocking up a game' wimpishly dealing and throwing away a board with so much more potential. I would try to stay away from using Steven as an example, but I must. :P Steven threw away a sparkling board, and cocked up his game. For me, and others, saying well done for someone doing that isn't right. You might think differently. As you said, that's what a forum is about, to discuss.

It would be a pretty sad state of affairs if people of opposing points of view were not allowed to express them.

Seems pointless having a forum otherwise.

Well I tend to say "well done" to every player anyway - be it because they have played the game they want to, because they won a large sum of money or because they played the perfect game and got an OPW... in Savvas' case, I'll be saying well done because he played the game he wanted!

Anyone else see some kind of inconsistency there?

Anyway, there's absolutely no way I'd have turned down that fourth offer, but I was still gutted for Savvas...he was a great character and I wanted him to get a lot more. Still, he took it well and seemed happy to live with the consequences of his decision, and if someone can do that then I don't think you can really criticise the way they've played it.

Well, considering yours and wakey's points of view were: "SHUT UP LYNN IT'S SAVVAS GAME", even though Savvas asked for advice; and then kestral, the owner of this site told you to shut up, it's a pretty sad state of affairs to let you continue in the pathetic manner in which you wish to do so.

Yes, whilst I said I think the forum should be a place of discussion, I was referring to my discussion about the use of the phrase "well done" in this context... I think when it gets to a point where someone says "Shut up Lynn" because she advised the player to deal after they had asked for advice on the wings, it gets a bit silly! :?

Yes, wakey, people will have different opinions, but that doesn't mean you have the right to tell somebody to shut up just because their opinion differs from yours. Do you not wonder why people get so angry at you on these forums? Because, although you may state your mind, you do it in such a way that you just don't seem to care that you may be offending somebody. Savvas asked for advice, Lynn gave him the advice she thought was suitable. That's no excuse for you to tell her to shut up.

We have this same argument with you day after day AFTER DAY, but you just don't seem to understand that it's not ok to go around insulting people with different opinions to your own.

I am going to say one more thing on this:

Wakey - if you presented your opinion in a different fashion then you may find you get more respect from people... Zeddie is quite a gambler and he said the other day how he didn't think somebody should've dealt and he would've gone on, but he did it in a polite manner and respected the contestant's decision.

An example of this is how you seem to have it in your head that I called Di an "idiot" - I didn't - I chose my words very carefully so as to not cause offence and stated that my opinion about her deal (or lack of deal) is different to hers and therefore I considered her decision was stupid, but I worded it in such a way as to not cause aggrevation.

Rather than saying "SHUT UP LYNN" etc., a post of "Hmm, I don't really agree with what Lynn said but oh well - I hope Savvas makes the right decision regardless!" would go down much better!

I probably shouldn't have questioned your use of the phrase "well done" earlier on as it almost triggered another argument, which was not my intention at all.

You need to realise that polite, well-mannered posts will go down much better than some of the posts you have been making recently! I don't really know why you're not banned as you've been banned once before, so you're already on your 6th chance or whatever it is, so if I were you, I'd play really carefully!!!! :? But you're not...
