I agree with basiscasic in that "well played" is probably the wrong expression to use as in terms of the game and beating the Banker, she lost.

I think it comes down to the old thing of how people who win 1p will be hailed as heroes for being courageous and so on, despite the fact that they played the game incorrectly in the terms of the game. No doubt if Belinda had won 1p, certain people on here (and probably Noel) would be saying "Well done for being true to yourself". I'm sure she'd rather people were saying to her "Well done on winning £21,000 on a show where there is a chance of winning under £1,000!", and it was well done in as much as she didn't do an appalling deal - if she'd dealt at a low sum early in the game, then it may not have been very well done - but the fact she played the game up until the point she wanted and then dealt is well done.

People judge contestants based on the proveout! Everyone would have been pleased if she'd Dealt and then produced the 1p/£1k finish - which was equally likely at the time she made the decision!!

Back to Belinda's game, it was another huge cop out at a rubbish offer. Reminds me of Kelsie actually, but not on a huge scale. I'd have gone for thw 60% chance of winning at least £15,000 and as soon as the 1p goes you're guaranteed a consolation high 4 figure offer at the end.

Except, of course, for the fact that the 1p wasn't guaranteed to go - it could have been in her box. And an offer of about £7k on a £1k/£15k final two wouldn't really be enough for me to feel happy about having turned down £21,000.

I doubt it. It would have been "Ah well she was just lucky, and £1k is still spendable so it was still a rubbish decision in my book. And she should have swapped for 4 anyway."

In gameplay terms it was a sensible deal especially with the 1p still there, but just a very unlucky proveout! :?

nice to see a genuine player.

early players usually have a blue.

it was tempting to go on but with the 1p and Pj yesterday. Can see why she dealt.

This must be "Let's annoy Daniel" week (although I still keep watching...).

But everything annoys you! I really liked Belinda, she should have done more shows. I think I would have dealt £61,000, although I would have had to really think about the £21,000. Well done!

Can't see why people are bothered about the 1p, it's only 9p less than 10p! :?

To be honest, I would rather win 1p than 10p. 10p is pathetic. At least with 1p you can have some sort of consolation as being a member of the 1p club. I've never heard any mention of Joan or Raj as being the only players to win 10p, but the 1p club is mentioned practically every day, and Dennis is mentioned occasionally.

Well done, you lovely lady.

Aww, shame she didn't win the £50,000 :( I didn't really agree with her deal, but £21,000 is nothing to frown at. Well done Belinda, a very enjoyable game :D

I was hoping that Belinda was going to be from Carlisle but, alas, it was not to be...

Really enjoyed that game - loved the way that after the very first mention of her being a hairdresser, the camera cut away to Karen! Classic comedy moment! Thought her daughter was great and also, to top it all off, the new player is called Lionel!

Happy days...

A very good game this one - she could have had more if she'd played on but she dealt at the right time for her and £21,000 is a good sum of money to go away with - and it was nice to see a nice, normal game after yesterday's mockery.

It's a shame Belinda had to play early as I liked her on the wings and in her game! :(

I did notice however, that Noel did not rub it in too much about how she could've got an extra £61,000 - he probably fancied her daughter, although I'd like to think we're seeing a less Wakeyfied Noel these days...

Enjoy the money, Belinda!
