Theresa soldiering on saying "I'm not going home with nothing" on that risky board was a bit foolhardy, especially when she didn't seem to give the offer a serious consideration.

I'm not 100% sure what she meant by that, whether it was total blind optimism that it wouldn't go wrong, or just saying that even if she got £1 then she wasn't going home with nothing...

Blimey, I was screaming at her to take that second £21k - she could have taken out 3 boxes from £5k or less, and the offer could have gone down, it was that generous (think of Lance's £17,500 offer!). Any non-reckless gambler would have ensured a week of player wins as well, that's what I'm really annoyed about - after all it takes some risks to be taken to win a Power 5 amount, but still, the mean was only about £22k on a board with huge volatility...:(

She reminded me a bit of Pat G to be honest!! :)

Hiya, as a matter of interest while I was waiting for my taxi back to the train station, I was sat in the Green room watching Theresas game live, Barry was there and a couple of newbies. I was the only one who said she should Deal!!! Fantastic offer £21,000 :smt026

I must admit I didn't really like Theresa much and I thought her brusque dismissal of Leila's advice totally unwarranted. I didn't shed any tears when it all went pear shaped.

That said I didn't think it was a reckless gamble. She had a decent enough chance of getting more than the inflated £21k offer with the £100k and £75k still up on the board. It was her only chance to sit in the crazy chair and win a life changing sum of money and I respect her for giving it a go.

And I can't wait to see how much positivity Phil has during his game!

Theresa definitely lost the sympathy vote there. Was with her all the way until she was so quick to knock back Leila's sensible advice when she was only trying to be a friendly voice and made her look very uncomfortable in the process.

Being prepared to take the risk while acknowledging the danger is one thing and makes for a great programme, but blind belief that somehow you of all people have divine power to succeed doesn't endear you to the viewers.

It made T seem arrogant, after which you deserve what you get.

I disagree. What she said after Leila's advise basically meant she was going to no deal. That would probably cause viewers to keep their telly on!

Exactly. She did seem to dismiss Leila's advice rather quickly. I don't know if parts had been edited out though. I would have dealt at £21,000 as there was no fallback if the two big numbers had been discovered. Also, I thought £21,000 was a good offer for that board. I expected something closer to £11,000. I don't blame her for not dealing though. Perhaps £21,000 wasn't enough for her to do everything she wanted.

Anyway, I thought Theresa was awesome and provided an entertaining game. It's just a shame she didn't win more.

That I am not massively surprised about that says it all. :(

I think Theresa was a bit silly refusing the 21,000 especially when the banker stuck at the offer a second time. At least she could of walked away with a decent sum of money instead of being a bit greedy. I know people are only in the craxy chair once but with that kind of money being offered especially with the board she had she should of seriosuly thought about it a bit more before refusing it.

To be honest in any game with two of the power 5 and 6 small amounts at the 8 box stage I would deal if the offer was reasonable (20K or more) as the odds are never in your favour in that scenario and we've seen it go wrong many times from that situation. That was your classic courage and peanuts game. :?

Actually come to think of it, many people with similar boards (Donna, Catherine, £1 Gary, Miguel) have had the same £21k offer, but with £250k/£100k instead of Theresa's £100k/£75k - that says it all! :)

She was very unlucky to take out both the biggies, but the most likely scenario was hitting one of them - the offer at 5-box wouldn't have been anyhwere near £21k on a one box game with either £75k or £100k as the biggie!

i would have took the 21 the second time, i thought it was a great offer for the state of that board and would not have risked it.

i thought she was to quick to dismiss it, and thought she seemed a bit greedy by saying she was going home with nothing, of course you are not as the 50p was the highest low amount, i was hoping she would go away with the pound.

but then again, if you want to win lots of money then you have to take risks and hope they pay off, like in barrys game.

I'm sure I'd commented on this game, maybe I didn't...

Anyway, I really liked Theresa but thought she was a little silly to turn down that second £21,000 offer as there was a very high chance that it could've gone wrong, and unfortunately for her, it did! :(

Still, £250 is better than 1p ("because it's more", as Kerry would say!) - so enjoy the money, Theresa!

Well, some could say Rita was silly for taking £18,444 as there was a high chance there would have been a higher offer...

;-)
