GET A GRIP!

You go there with nothing and it's nice if you get a large sum of money, but you haven't lost anything and no one has died if you only get a small amount.

Some people need help if that is someone to cry over.

Hmmm - yes - but they are like a family onthere - she was the Mummy! I see what you are saying, but it would be horrid for someone to prove where the larger amount was, i.e.Sarah.

Well the actual player was taking it with a pinch of salt and if I was there I would treat it for what it is; randomly opening 22 boxes so not anyone's fault.

That is the bit that is wrong: getting emotional over a random outcome is illogical captain.

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

The Players would may have been sad that their friend is going home withlow amount - they know her more than any of us would... they must get very close.

Haha, that was the first blue win since Rose's £750 two weeks ago...I hope an old lady (Philomena?) wins £250 in two weeks' time. We have the potential for an awesome pattern here.

Rose's game feels like ages ago! Bad luck Jean, sometimes the game just doesn't go right.

Don't you mean Wilhelmina Daniel?

Today's game was a bit naff really wasn't it. I was screaming for her to deal at the £8,500... Let's hope for a big winner tomorrow.

...which in turn was the first blue win since 1p Tony. If you count the extra £400 that Rose got (thus making it £1,150, which would count as a red) then that would be a new record of 28 red wins...but that would be silly.

Pity it didn't turn out the right way for Jean today, she came so close to that OPW but it turned out to be in the other box. There's only one 2006 joiner left now, and that's Steven!

I think he means Steven is the last person to join in shows filmed in 2006! (he was the new player in the very last game, Bindya's)!

Haha, that confused me for a bit too...if Steven really had joined in 2006 then he'd have done at least 68 shows...

I'm still here. I started work at the end of February, and work until 4:30pm, and watch the show on More4, though only occasionally instead of every day.

Just want to mention about the offer % stat. When the lowest amount you can win is significantly higher than 0, it can distort the percentages.

An example is with two amounts left, £50,000 and £100,000. An offer of £55,000 would generate a percentage of 73.33% if you divided the offer by the mean, so you have to reduce the two amounts and the offer to find the percentage.

In this case, it would be subtracting £50,000 from each, with 0 and 50,000 as the new amounts, and the calculation would be 5,000 / 25,000, or 20%. Hope this helps. :)

Ah, thanks, that makes sense.

How do you work out the risk of collapse?

Okay, the risk of collapse is based on the odds of having at least one of the significant reds (£10,000+) at the two box stage.

I calculated the percentages a while ago, and added them to the speadsheet, which can be downloaded here.

From there, you can automatically calculate the risk of collapse, along with the two box median and other stats. I suggest using OpenOffice, as that's what was used to develop the spreadsheet.

Glad you like the stats. :D

Jean - it should have been so much more! But you were prone to having blues... never mind! £500 may not be alot to win on the show - but we know that you will enjoy it! :P
