The banker calls back before the start of the next round and says he knew Dennis was going to do that and the offer was higher than the average on the board and he is now going to crush Dennis!!! :shock:

Then the banker phones back and said he's never before offered an offer which has been more than the average of the amounts on the board!

Yes, but I think only at the final offer. Maybe at 5-box, but I don't think so... certainly there was a famous above-average offer very early on in November 2005.

Can I please ask, where is the rule (written or unwritten) that says that the banker has to follow any rules? Why should he offer under the average all the time? Isn't that just dull and predictable?

Noel asks Dennis what he's thinking now, Dennis says that this is the point in the game where it gets really good. The banker reminds Dennis about the time when he asked Dennis to predict an offer and Dennis was wrong by £8,000. Noel says he is now offering £1... AS IF!!
