His sense of reality even rubbed off on Noel... a little bit. I still treat every word he says with suspicion, and he still built up the box opening like almost every other such finish which I think betrayed his true intentions.

Congratulations to Daniel for playing your game and not Noel's. Another day, Noel's game could have won you 1p.

True h, but of course if the luck had worked out for John he would have been hailed as the gutsy guy who selflessly won a lot of money for his family. That said, I was still screaming at the TV for John to deal at 25K! :D

Yes, a refreshing change from Noel's chicken impressions and
the "let's rub your face in it if you didn't have the courage to no deal
every banker offer and your box had a a large red number" approach! :D

I'm with Maud...I didn't like John before his game, but saying all that about his family then No Dealing anyway made him even worse in my eyes. I couldn't really have cared less how it turned out.

Well....before Daniels' game was on, I watched Alfie's again- turns out I needn't have bothered as I watched more or less exactly the same game but without Alfie's joke offers! :)

And Daniel was the last surviving player from Alfie's game...spooky. Now all the 2006 players have gone!

Anyway, for what it's worth, he did a lot better than I would have in this situation, I'd have gone at £22,500 - there were only two values higher out of 11 boxes for crying out loud! :)

And I did apprecitae Noel's comments for not rubbing his nose in it for dealing, but he did lose points in my book for trying to influence Daniel's box selection (when he picked Phil) - he could have changed his mind, then hit the £250,000 (yes, I know he couldn't hit it as he had it, but of course you don't know that at the time). Imagine of Phil had had the 1p! Glad Phil was back to his good old self anyway! :)

Enjoy the £24,500 Daniel, you got more than I would have out of that game!

Another shock appearance of the £250,000 - I was busy cursing another £20,000 v £250,000 final two, and another £20,000 box because I was sure the biggie wouldn't have come again!

I think it'll be a long wait now for another, but saying that, it'll probably come in the next two weeks! :D

Damn..i really wanted Daniel to win a good amount and beat the banker. Oh well, £24,500 is a very nice sum of money so 1 out of the 2 isnt bad!

Hi Guys,
Thanks for all your support and kind messages.
Wow what a game. I couldnt believe how quickly it started to fall apart at the beginning. Im absolutely delighted with £24,500 but of course part of me is gutted I could have gone on to win £75k or even £250k if I was a bit more courageous, but as I said at the time I know that I did the right deal for our little family at the right time. I would have been devastated to have lost it and of course baby Jac would have stuck one on me.
its also worth mentioning that the 1p frightened the death out of me.
Its been an experience of a lifetime and Id advise anyone of thinking of applying to go ahead and do it. You never know you may be lucky enough to get on. I did and there nothing special about me. Its a great game for normal people. if you do get an audition just be yoursef- you never know!

once again thanks for your kind messages.

Daniel

Hi Daniel!

Yeah, you played a great game today. Many would have dealt at the same point, as you say with that 1p there it was just too risky, and a 1p v £750 final two would have been rubbish.

Well done on that £24,500, it's still a hefty sum!
