Surprised he dealt... but then, people were surprised I dealt too. As Aaron said, it's not the audience's money...

Good deal, lots of money, enjoy it Bushy!!!

I wish he would shut up about the averages. The game doesn't work like that IMO.

But well done Aaron, good game.

Best game in weeks. Totally deserved too.

£30,000 I might have taken as a job well done, but on that board there was a very good chance of getting something bigger - probably in the final five or eight, as the Banker would have taken the offer down if any of the Power Five went in the third round. And as you said, you wanted to put on a show - and, dear hell, you did.

Enjoy your winnings.

BTW - a thought just sprung to mind. You mentioned that you compile politics-related odds... your board at the first break reminded me of the look of the Commons between 1997 and 2005. The reds standing strong, the blues decimated.

Of course the game works like that!

The bankers offers don't, but the game does! Working out the average enables you to see what the average would be in your box, and by that you can make your decision on whether to deal or not.

It ought to, because if every player takes their box, the Banker will - in the long run - give away the mean of the 22 box values every episode. And that's almost £26,000, and the actual prizes have been nearer £20,000 per episode.

Aaron asserted his authority on the game, helped by THAT start, and essentially came out and said 'I'm playing the mathematical game, I know a joke offer when I see one, don't give me one'. Another player on the same board would have got an insultingly low third offer, and the first two offers would probably have been much closer to the previous record offers for that stage (£9,000 and £17,000) than what Aaron actually got. In short, Aaron took the game by the scruff of the neck and got his reward.

That was rather good. Had a feeling this was be in "biggest opening offer" game, but didn't quite expect it to be that big!

I figure the odds of taking out one of the big numbers, and thus decimating the offer, were pretty high at the end there? I'm surprised so many people were saying to no deal, actually.

Well played Aaron that was a fantastic game, what a start :D

Was always worried that the banker would play around with the offers because of your stats background, but what a great result - Well Done :smt041
