Wonderful game, well done Margaret :-D

Although I was expecting that last offer to be £6,300 and a lot of the forum members to scream DEAL at their TVs!!

:-D

Great game today!!! Not surprised that she turned down the last offer as it was rather stingy when £10,375 was the mean. Good to see a risky gamble pay off!!! :D

Some stats which some may find mildly interesting:

As Ned didn't play today, he becomes the first male player ever to legitimately span three months on the show (he joined in Spiky's game, the last show of October). Only Pat M (28th March-3rd May) has matched this feat, and possibly Irene (29th November-2nd January), although that's really only because no shows were broadcast on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. The ones who played over the Summer break don't count as only four shows were broadcast in August.

Margaret's final two of £750 and £20,000 was also interesting...
  • This time last month (30th October), Lee won £750.
  • This time last year (30th November 2005), Andy K won £20,000.

AND Andy K had £750 in his box!

Still, what a great game...really glad she drew with The Banker, reminded me of Nalini's game. Definitely a keeper!

Brilliant game for Margaret!

£20,000 is a lovely amount and I'm very pleased for her.

Great game, and a fantastic recovery after it appeared to be heading for disaster! Reminded me a lot of Ron's game back in June, lots of twists and turns leading to the eventual winning gamble on a £20,000/high blue final pair.

Also, was that the best opening round ever? We've had 4 all-blues before (not 2, Noel!) but Margaret managed not to hit anything above £100!

Noel is really losing it. 4 people have done an all blue opener before, not 2

Just watching the first half of the game on More 4, having seen the last half on Channel 4. What a fantastic show!

The excellent opening rounds, the mid-show 'collapse' (if you can call it that?!?) and the gung-ho attitude to keep on going right to the end to get the £20,000 she was offered earlier.

Superb!

Here are all the all-blue rounders, with the amounts re-arranged from lowest to highest blue.
Shell: 1p, £1, £5, £50, £250
Aaron: 1p, £10, £50, £100, £750
Khanny: 10p, £1, £50, £100, £250
Matt: 1p, 50p, £1, £100, £750
Margaret: 1p, 50p, £1, £50, £100

So, with that evidence, yes, Margaret's was *the* strongest opening round EVER!! Again, well done to her!

She removed just £151.51 from the board in that opening round! All the others took out more than that with a single box... and as for the two that took out the £750, that barely qualifies as an all-blue round. ;)

Interesting that 4 out of the 5 removed the 1p.

What a legend!! She's the first all-blue rounder that I've really liked, too, so it was good to be able to shout "YEEES!" rather than "Woo."
