I thought that £30,000 was a very high offer and I think that nearly everyone would of dealt and I then had this strange feeling that she was going to have the £250,000 in her box (which luckily she didn't). I thought the offer at that stage would of been around £20,000.

Hmm...I'd have taken £30k too, but I don't think it was as generous an offer as everyone else seems to think. The £15k and £20k back-up meant there was only a 10% chance of a complete disaster; OK, it would have felt like a disaster if she'd been left with one of those and a blue, but she'd still have been offered a few thousand, with still a 50% chance of five figures. I can see why a gambler would have happily turned it down.
