Inevitable that we were gonna get a reality check game like this eventually. :( :smt009

5 box answer @ 48 minutes...

£10,000 won't be there at three box, so obvious...

that's what I would have said (yes really) if there wasn't a delay for the commentary.

The polar opposite of Jack's game - while he had an awful start but turned it around to a huge win, Zee's game started well then totally collapsed :(

I suppose the luck had to run out for someone eventually, hopefully just a blip and not the start of a new trend.

I wouldn't worry too much, fellas. Not had a blue win since the first week I don't think.

Pretty nasty one too, that could have happened to anyone. Nobody's dealing the £5k 3rd round offer. It clearly pissed him off too, which I like seeing (in a sense that I prefer seeing honest reactions) not that I wished it on him. Two+ recording weeks minimum in a draughty studio far away from home, leaving behind an effectively self employed job, and your reward is a slap in the face with a wet fish. It isn't ''okay'', it's not ''what will be will be''. We apply for game shows for the money and if we don't get it, what a waste of time and daydreams.

Another grating thing with this version is the monochromatic view of the Blues and Reds, never taking into account the values relevant to the context of the gameboard.

£1,000 was taken out and received a frosty reception, Mulhern stating we didn't want to see it. But had it been £750, with just that £250 difference between them? Clapped, cheered, ''yes, a blue, find another one! :-) ".

I've noticed this too, although it was a problem in the old version too.

At the end of the day £750 and £1,000 aren't much different utility wise (even more so now than in the Channel 4 version!), but because one is blue and the other is red the reactions are radically different.

To begin with, yes, but it got better later on. In 2012, the only year I was engaged with the OG show after 2007, Noel was placing a lot more importance on the lower red/high blue values depending on the way the board unfolded. ''You cheer for a blue, but actually that was the 3rd highest value...'' sort of talk. With Mulhern and co, it's just pure robotics. But I've said that often enough that I fear creating the monster myself.
