I've set up this commentary thread earlier than normal so people can discuss the first show if they want before it actually starts at 4pm on Monday.

I don't know if many people will come on here to look at the commentaries or comment on the shows, given Twitter's often the place for that these days, but we can see how it goes!

As I WFH most days and often finish at 4pm, I can provide some commentaries in the week but not all. If others want to do so then the existing 'rota thread' can be used which is here.

Just the first two, I’ll be interested to see how they’ve got the edit for the first episode down to around 45 minutes (adverts will take up the other 15 probably!) because it took around 3 hours to film!

To be fair the second game was much faster to film

I love how the media always ask ‘IS THERE REALLY A BANKER AT THE OTHER END?!’…during the first recording it was a bit weird as they had the microphones turned up a bit too high so you could pretty much hear his entire conversation with Stephen sitting in the audience!

Hello Everyone.

I never was here on the forums during the OG run.

But found out about this place via the discord server.

So excited to FINALLY get to see a Show Discussion Live.

DoND's new sponsor is Tombola.

Stephen Mulhern welcomes us to the new show, which has a new set, graphics, shorter titles and new money amounts. The familiar music has been retained though, albeit with some tweaks!

Stephen chats to some of the contestants on the wings, including Raj, Myles and Sian - and works out there's a marriage link between them! He also chats to some others including Karen.

A rotating display of names shows the first player is... SIAN.

Sian has box 5.

Sian's a wedding planner in the Cotswolds and her husband's in the audience today. She reveals some of the experiences she's had on people's wedding days, including a naked wedding photoshoot!

She says being the first player of the new series is a surreal experience and all the contestants have been chatting on a WhatsApp group.

Sian says it feels too good to be true! Stephen says the new banker's the only person who won't be over the moon. He says this will be his first conversation with him.

The banker complains this wasn't the best start for him. Stephen asks where he got his money and he says he comes from a long line of bankers

Sian asks about the banker and Stephen says he sounds very stern with a lot of money.

Stephen thinks Sian is raging so he calls a break...

Not a massive surprise for the first episode...

Very poor opening offer for that start.

I guess they wanted to make 100% sure there wasn't a first offer deal out of shell-shock.

Somewhat of a relief the offer was so low though as I jokingly promised everyone on the Discord server a Nitro if today's player dealt the first offer.

£2,100 is an absolute insult of an offer.

Glad Sian treated it with the disdain it deserved.
