What's even weirder is that something similar happened in Karen's game in December. In contrast to Janelle, she'd been there for *33* shows, longer than anyone else there at the time, but the audience were deathly silent when Noel opened her box and revealed £15,000, thus beating the Banker (she dealt at £17k a few rounds earlier). And as the credits rolled, practically the same thing happened as you described.
She seemed perfectly likeable to me, so what was the problem? Was it because she could have won £55,000 at one point? Surely it wasn't because she had lots of high numbers in her box, thus destroying quite a few games?
Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it was weird.
