Dave Speakman, from Hull, a self-employed fisherman since the age of 14. His wife Denise is in the audience, along with his daughter. He is unable to read properly, having not done well at school. He has also lost many friends while out fishing, and tells of how fishing generally goes for him. He has a photo of himself at work, and another of his daughter's wedding, which he says cost him a fortune!

The Banker loves what Dave has bought to the show, and how his inability to read has resulted in him coming up with nicknames for the other players! He says Dave is a formidable chap, and he wouldn't underestimate him for one moment.

A very slow 1p kiss ensues! The Banker says Dave is his kind of guy; he's watched him in the greenroom, where Dave would go in early and hide some of the drinks so that there would be some left for him!

Noel runs through Dave's ambitions for the money, including going to India and getting a car for his granddaughter; he also claims Dave wanted to meet both Noel and Ray Winstone! Another anecdote ensues.
