Banker reckons £20,000 is in Box 20. No swap is offered.

Noel pulls the seal on Rosie's Box 18 and reveals £20,000 :-D

Brilliant! Did NOT expect that, enjoy the money! :D :D :D

LOL at Noel failing at opening the box and then finishing the game by opening the last box himself.

Not a a Spanking, as she had been offered slightly more.

But what a relief! :smt023

I bet the Banker is damn gutted he didn't offer the swap now as she probably would have swapped.

At least no-one can accuse him of not offering the swap as he knew what was in the box, unlike the last time he refused a swap in Julius' game. It would've looked very bad and suspicious if the exact same thing that happened in Julius' game had happened here.

What a roller coaster today's show was! To take out the 75K 100K and 250K in one round and still nearly get a OPW with 20K is simply amazing. Thank God the banker didn't offer her the swap! :)
Does anyone have the stats on how many contestants have taken out the top 3 in a single round? I doubt that any of them will have won as much as Rosie.

I know 10 people have done it, 8 in live play and 2 post deal.

I make it eight in LIVE play: Stuart (Sep '07), Mini (Jul '10), Ron (May '11), David (Dec '11), Damien (Mar '12), Colleen (May '12), Jo (Nov '12), and now Rosie joins them. :smt023 I believe Stuart also won around £20k. :smt023

And at least two have done it the proveout.

Now imagine if she kept the £250k in play until 2 box... Would she have gone for it and would she have swapped?

Also it's a shame the tension at the end was completely ruined due to Noel's shocking box opening.

£3,000? What on Earth was he on?! I'm not sure I can get over that. An absolutely pathetic offer. :smt011

It would've been a lot of money regardless, and I'd have had to deal it regardless. But even so, it was terrible.

It forced her on, though, I suppose, and she's lucky to have recovered from the short blip with almost the £22,500 she could've had before it happened. Fair enough. £20,000 should go a long way. :smt023

Wow, Wow, Wow, :smt119 :smt120 .....................

Excellent job Rosie for having the GUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :smt023 :smt023 :smt023

Wow, Wow, Wow, :smt119 :smt120 .....................

To pull the £425,000 round was extremely unfortunate, but fortunately Rosie was able take it on the chin and not stoop to taking the Banker's HORRIBLE "lifelines". That was probably the most deserved £20,000 box win there ever was.

On another note, the Banker's Offers late in the game recently are complete RUBBUSH. :smt011 :smt019 The Banker is flat out refusing to make the big offers that big money boards deserve, even when the player makes it abundantly clear that they are OHOs (i.e. Paddy). Then, when the big money goes, he makes complete jokes hoping the player crashes. Endemol should fire that VERY pathetic excuse of a Banker already.

Wow. That is as much of a recovery as you can expect after the complete nightmare round. It's a shame Rosie wasn't offered Paddy's £19,999 at 8-box as this would have made it a definite spanking instead of an almost spanking. :smt023

Exactly! It's technically an OBW, as she won less than the peak from her box, but it doesn't really feel like one! Maybe that classification needs reviewing.

And, yes ACB, the Banker needs to learn to still try to buy the box even when an absolute OPW is out of the question. That celebration at 5-box was, as I thought, premature. :smt011

If that had been a blue win, any momentum in casual viewership after Monday would have gone. Thank goodness it wasn't!

It goes down as a Banker victory, but it's a thoroughly deserved Banker defeat.

Well, yes. I view this more TPW or TBW than anything else, and it's certainly never an 'outright Banker win'. He didn't win outright, at all, in any way, shape or form. He won on a technicality, that being there was one offer higher. It's no knockout, it's a very close win for him on points alone.

Still, I hesitate to even call it a technical Banker win.

Scrapping the classifications altogether, as I alluded to in another post, Rosie won £20,000. And, remembering I'm not counting the scoring system here, never is winning £20,000 going to be any form of loss for the player. Full stop. :smt023 :P

I feel like OBW ought to be the complete opposite of OPW; if OPW is "won largest amount possible", OBW should be "won smallest amount possible". After all, if I were the banker, I wouldn't call £20,000 a win when Rosie could have dealt a figure £19,000 less than that.

In addition, OBW is considerably favored to happen more often than OPW when the player opens the box. Rosie, for instance, was always going to get an OBW after saying no deal to £3,000.

I think maybe the classifications should cater more to the seven (or more, depending on special offers) amounts given to the player between offers and personal box. Maybe just a simple ranking from 1 to 7? This would increase the perspective of the player's decision to the overall game, although the scale of the game is lost. Hmmm.
